Menthol cigarettes better than pure tobacco. I used to take hits off of menthol cigarettes before kissing a woman who smoked. Girls who put a cigarette in their mouths will put anything in there. lol
That is cutting off your nose to spite your face. Yes, I think they should allow growing, but if they don't, it is still better than fearing being thrown in jail and having to deal with criminals.
Are you trying some weird reverse attempt to be the first person to get a thread moved FROM TooHot TO the Den???

I'm not in Florida, but I would vote for it. Lets legalize it and put Monsanto, our lazy FDA and big pharma's side effect riddled roster on the ballot instead.
Research suggests otherwise. “Conclusions: These results demonstrate a moderate association between cannabis use and physical violence, which remained significant regardless of study design and adjustment for confounding factors (i.e., socioeconomic factors, other substance use). Cannabis use in this population is a risk factor for violence.” Association Between the Use of Cannabis and Physical Violence in Youths: A Meta-Analytical Investigation - PubMed
With all due respect, every drug with full FDA approval has undergone rigorous study and the side effects are generally well know as well as efficacy. Specific doses are tested and approved for use. It’s all in the package insert. The same isn’t true for pot.
If so, then the effects aren't noticeable. Theres nothing in a field sobriety I couldn't ace, even if I smoked a lot. As far as I'm concerned, I might as well be stone cold sober. Again, control. The opposite of alcohol. Your point of reference seems to be an ABC After School Special.
I hear ya pa, but my point is one is just a natural substance and the others are often pretty potent man made concoctions. I am nowhere close to anti medicine, but i guess I have a distrust for the corporate complex that is big pharma. I'm not saying pot is some magic puff of health by any means.
Sorry, the science says otherwise. “Cannabis has measurable effects that impair reaction time in critical situations, similar to the dreaded video game lag. Studies show cannabis impairs critical abilities that lead to impaired driving, including: Slowed reaction time Decreased, divided attention Impaired cognitive performance Relaxed inhibitions Impaired executive functions, including route planning, decision making, and risk-taking, or a combination of all” The dreaded lag time “Findings In this randomized clinical trial of 191 regular cannabis users who smoked ad libitum placebo or 5.9% or 13.4% Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) cigarettes, simulator driving worsened in the THC group, but this was unrelated to THC content, use history, or blood THC concentration. Perception of driving impairment decreased at 1 hour 30 minutes, despite no objective improvement in driving; on average, performance was indistinguishable from the placebo group at 4.5 hours.” https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamapsychiatry/fullarticle/2788264?guestAccessKey=c31eeaa1-94d3-4f168f22-8ab39c92b3cb&utm_source=For_The_Media&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=ftm_links&utm_content=tfl&utm_term=012622 You may “think” you are fine to drive but controlled studies show you really are not and you can’t suddenly magically “sober up”. It took 4.5 hours to get to the level of the non high person. It’s called user bias. Not from an after school special.
I know a lot of people who think weed has no effect on their driving which is scary. I've heard folks say it makes 'em better drivers. I am for greatly increasing the penalties for any impaired driving. IMO, you have a right to get loaded. You don't have a right to endanger others.
CHFG8R is correct about field sobriety tests, but not for the reason he thinks. The Department of Justice commissioned a study in 2020. One of the things they took a look at was whether traditional field sobriety exercises used to detect alcohol impairment are useful to detect marijuana impairment. Conclusion: They are NOT. "One leg stand, walk and turn, and modified Romberg balance field sobriety tests, which are part of a battery of tests administered to detect alcohol impairment, were not sensitive to cannabis intoxication." https://www.ojp.gov/pdffiles1/nij/grants/255884.pdf

It’s been engineered, breed up and modified compared to the stuff the Native Americans smoked. Plus just because something is “natural” doesn’t mean it’s safe.
That likely is true, however his idea that he can just snap out of his high on command is laughable as the studies have shown. I think that was his really his point not that a field test wasn’t enough to discern intoxication level. I’d ask anyone who thinks the can just “snap out of being stoned” on command this question. Would you be okay if your heart surgeon smoked a fatty 1/2 hour before your bypass surgery? He can just snap out of it on command right?
I don’t think smoking and driving is safe but most people I know don’t want to drive stoned in the first place partly because it harshes their mellow. Of course, there are ranges of effects depending on how much is consumed too. Nobody flinches about having a couple drinks at dinner.
I literally see people driving around everyday smoking weed. How do I know? Pull up next to them and get a contact high. Maybe older people aren’t into it as it’s mostly under 30.
