Amazingly, if I were Georgia, the first thing I’d try to take away from Florida is the deep ball. Probably I would try to do this mostly with pressure, but if that fails, I’d probably plant an extra high safety. Florida shouldn’t win this game, but if they do, it’s likely because Lagway completed another five 40+ yard passes.

I agree! Georgia should play a 1-10 defense... One nose tackle, and 10 defensive backs! You gotta stop DJ first!

I'm happy we didn't take a shot against UK at the end of the first half. Can't comment on other games e.g. UT.

We need to anticipate this and work the underneath slants and crossing routes. If they use a second high safety this will open up those things as well as QB runs and the run game in general.

You can bet UGA will take away options #1 and #2. DJ is going to have to be patient.

Why not, we used to play a cover-8 prevent defense all the time... Then we moved to a high-2 where the two Safeties were so far from the line that we were essentially playing with 9 defenders...

Cover 10 is not going to happen, but it will be interesting how much UGA will blitz the Gators... I predict UGA will BLITZ... BLITZ... BLITZ as often as they can all night long.

And when they don't blitz, they will still line up like they will blitz and then drop back.

We need quick developing plays NOT BEHIND THE LINE OF SCRIMAGE PASS PLAYS, PLEASE. Let's try and call FORWARD PASS PLAYS FOR COMPLETIONS.

Did Milroe-as-dual-threat have a good game against them? I'm hoping this is the wild card and Billy has something to roll out.

Milroe did have a good game but then again Alabama has 5 star players along their whole offensive line. I don’t think lagway is going to see that type of time.

I think DJ better be ready to make those reads in the first ten yards. Thats where the best qbs make their living. They can all throw the deep ball but whats up when tgats taken away.

With as porous as the right side of our offensive line has been, UGA will probably be content to rush 4-5, squat the short stuff and stick a safety over the top. If we can give Lagway time, he is elite enough to find open receivers deep and gash Georgia's defense. We also need him to use his legs without getting hurt.

Lagway deserves a lot of the credit.
However, the pass recievers and the O-line deserve a lot of credit too!

It is great to see all the pieces fitting into place.

I hope that we see this again in Jacksonville.

I think if Lagway can escape the rush and scramble for some decent yardage or even get a large gainer, it could help against the massive rush we will see. I don’t see or think Lagway runs a lot but the threat would be helpful.

Not too far from how Bill Walsh throttled Dan Marino and the Dolphins Duper & Clayton show in Super Bowl XIX. Pretty sure he played 6 DBs most if not all game.
The Dolphins ran 9 rushing plays the entire game.

Idk. Id just let my lineman walk through uf's line like Moses parting the red sea, sit back and watch how dj does when the LBs are there at the same time as the ball.

DJ makes Florida’s offense tougher to defend. His deep ball threat will open up more of the run and TE play.

Having a legitimate deep threat really opens up the playbook.

I don't think they will blitz much, they will get plenty of pressure with their 4 man rush. I would expect they play safe, keep everything in front of them making DJ and more importantly BN put together sustained drives. If they do that I anticipate the offense struggling.

This... we better have plenty of quick pass plays with a safety valve receiver or running back on the ready just in case of an all out blitz. We need an outlet receiver close to the QB, for the QB to pass it to, in case of a jailbreak pass rush.
