This is it! I'm feeling better about this game than I did at the beginning of the season but it's still going to be a tough out. Not sure if our wins are against crappy teams or if we are starting to turn a corner. I guess we will see. Bring on the Icy Hot Stunaz!
The odds are against UF, Vegas supports that statement. I know many here dislike FSU more than UGA but for me, it's not close. UGA will always be my personal #1 "want to win" priority. I am somewhat buoyed by the fact that UF is going into this contest by playing the best ball they have all year. But by every metric, this is a tough ask. A very tough ask. UGA made a statement beating Texas down the way they did. UGA's defensive line whipped Texas OL protection all game long. The Gators must protect DJL, and give the recievers time to get open. IMO thats UF's best shot, run to keep them honest, sure, but UF must have explosives in this game to have a chance on offense, and on defense, get some 3 and outs and continue the good play of the last three weeks. Despite everything, this game offers Billy Napier a singular chance to get back in Gator Nations good graces and to keep his job. It's wait and see week, I'm looking forward to the contest.
If DJ can hit a couple 20 yd plus passes early, I think we can get them with the run. Protection will be the key so you're right on that. TX wasn't able to hit many long passes.
Goal line stand still gives me chills. Probably the most satisfying win ever over uga to me. The only one close is making uga stay on the field during the time outs in 2008.
The '84 game was epic. Raucous crowd for sure. Goal line stand followed by Bell to Nattiel. Doesn't get any better. Roger Sibald was money.
The '93 game sticks out to me. Mostly cuz I sat in the endzone in the rain - with a warm whiskey buzz. Anthone called the TO and the pick! Everyone went absolutely crazy! I think it took me 2 days to dry out (both ways).
The Muschamp game when Treon basically didn’t pass, and a 13 point underdog Gator squad manhandled UGA up front.
At this point, UGA is favored by 17. UF needs to prevent UGA from getting up by two scores early. With that said, Georgia by 20.
I was there in that end zone with my fiancé (now wife of 40 years) and have never screamed so loud! I felt like a was on the field!!
My personal fav, post Spurrier. Our backfield ran roughshod over them, and went nuts for like 300 yards. It was the one game in the Muschamp era, where I saw his vision....and loved what I saw. But that one game kinda stood alone. I don't remember him having any others that even came close to that one--his magnum opus; his master piece.
I was about the 20 yard line and about halfway up the stadium, right above that view in video. I was 180 degrees across the field in the nose bleed section the year before and almost died from exposure! It was 75 that morning and like 30 that night with 30 mph winds. I froze my arse off. Miserable.
Yep, Spikes drilling him right off the bat set the tone for the game. Major Wright's hit on the Oklahoma receiver did the same.
