27% on 3s, bad, and rebounding, bad. On the other hand, Walt had 6 assists to 1 turnover (outstanding). Gators forced 27 turnovers (unreal). 19 of 23 (83%) from the free throw line, excellent. Good production and rebounding by Chinyelu without fouling much. Lots to build on and lots to work on. But that's every preseason. Sure hope Condon will be ready, if not for the next scrimmage, at least for the opener. And somebody on staff needs to be calling the NCAA every two hours about Klavzar until they're so exasperated they get the damn thing resolved.
Haugh with 11 points including 2 x three pointers is a nice sign. Todd Donovan is building something great in Gainesville.
thanks for clearing up that it was Urban not yet cleared... Does the staff feel good about it? So, starters were Rueben at 5 Haugh at 4 (in place of Condon) Richard - 3 Martin - 2 Clayton Jr. - 1 Alexis & Brown off the bench Nothing on Aderdeen or KK
Brown is going to be a player for us. Next year watch out, he's going to play 10 mins or so this year
Aberdeen struggled to find the bucket on Saturday, missing seven of his eight field goals and all three of his 3-point attempts. KK only played for less than 6 minutes. Minute breakdown: F Thomas Haugh - 30:19 W Will Richard - 28:17 C Rueben Chinyelu - 25:59 G Walter Clayton - 25:49 G Alijah Martin - 25:37 G Denzel Aberdeen - 24:31 F Sam Alexis 23:42 W Isaiah Brown 9:57 G Kajus Kublickas 5:51
would imagine once Condor is back we'll have 8 players playing 20+ minutes with 9-12 contributing 10-20 Will be interesting if and when Urban is cleared if he plays 8-10 mins a game
There’s 200 minutes to go around in a game without overtime. 8*20=160. That’s 40 mins left. Let’s say a few go over so those 8 play 180 total. That’s 20 minutes left for players 9-12, which include Urban and KK maybe math isn’t your thing?
Actually, math is my thing, as are reading and writing. For example, if I make 7 3’s, 8 2’s and 6 free throws in a game, I have definitely scored more than 20 points in the game. How’s that for math. As for your prior post, you have 8 players playing 20+ minutes, and 4 players contributing 10-20 minutes. I assumed that you meant 20+ minutes and 8-10 minutes per player. That would be a boatload of minutes.
too much math for Friday morning... good to read good things to start out some competitive stuff against another team. Aberdeen is going to come around. I just feel like that dude has stuck it out for a reason, ya know? lots of other guys would have left.
ha no, I see where the disconnect is - i meant AMONG players 9-12 there's a couple playing 10-20, not all 4, or yes 4 playing 8-10 each for example but less likely we go a full 12 deep...however you slice it. Also 20+ isn't necessarily 20, I wasn't getting that specific. Either way, yes, 43 points is a hell of a game.
I just assumed some office at UF maintained an account there, since inside info is always posted there.
