I agree we don't own civility and I don't think the author feels that way either. I think it more of a statement on what the identity of a Christian should entail.

Maybe so, but what do you think he'd think of abortion? That's right, stop talking about Jesus like you think you know him.

What if you're one of the 100+ million Americans who isn't Christian? Or one of the nearly 6 billion people in the world who isn't Christian?

You could say that, but you won't, since you also said, "I could say something about Liberal "christians" too, but I will be nice."

And the master carpenter spoke about the kingdom of God more than anything else telling us that this kingdom of God is within you and me. Quite a different teaching than the John 3:16 emphasis of modern day American Christianity.

No lies here in my opinion. Although I do think it is clear what He held MOST important.

He is right. Jesus came first and foremost to redeem fallen humanity, that isnt debatable from scripture...but he certainly spoke of other things as @mdgator05 mentioned

#7 doesnt say anything about owning. But Christians are 100% called to do that in scripture.

Why are there only two options in the poll?
A neither option would get a lot of votes on this board .

Where is any Christian claiming that?
The scriptures do tell us that all good things come from God, but It doesnt tell us good things only happen from or to Christians.

Since this is quickly devolving into a religious thread, I will drop this note here.

So while working with the Baptist missions to help with NC cleanup, I attended an after work presentation by two people who have been in India spreading the word of god/Jesus.

One thing they said hit me hard.

They said 250,000 people die in India every day who have never heard of Jesus, and as such are condemned to hell for eternity.

Now realize that has been happening for over 2000 years. That is billions of souls being subjected to unending torment... just because they were born in the wrong part of the world.

What kind of god would do that? Ok lightning bolt.... this is your chance to get me ... the Christian god is an asshole!

That viewpoint isn't universal in Christendom. I do get why you'd think so though.

Sorry. You have to break a few eggs to make an omelet.

Maybe we are wrong about that rule? Maybe Christians go to Heaven and everyone else gets Nirvana? They are great in concert.
