7-0 (2nd time in program history) 6 consecutive games of scoring 40+ (1st time in program history) * scored 31 in the other game.
3 and 9 last year with wins over Akron, Indiana state and Wisconsin... Amazing how much hype Deion and Colorado received last year for a couple of early narrow wins after opening with a win against tcu. What cignetti is doing at Indiana is much more impressive to this point. Time will tell.
I been saying that for the past 2 years, and had a post specifically citing an article about explosive plays. I replied as I did because it does support the notion that DJ's incredible ability to hit deep balls is masking BN deficiencys in a way the overwhelming majority of QBs could not.
This is one of those statements that's technically true but missing significant context. UK was one of the worst programs in the country until Stoops came along, and Mac was bailed out multiple times to get victories over Stoops and UK. Clearly that doesn't excuse Mullen and Napier being abused, but 4 consecutive bad hires over the course of a decade is hard to overcome
Missing significant context? Like this year's Kentucky team is the worst team Stoops has trotted out there in going on 10 years? Like even if they beat Auburn, they're looking at a 8-16 record in the last 3 years of SEC play? Of that 8-16 record, they'll be 2-1 against Billy Napier? Is that the missing context you're thinking about?
If we are projecting, I'm more in 8 win category. He wins 7 reg season games then the bowl game to get to 8 wins. IMHO he should be retained if he did that.
Two points here. First, on this years schedule. We got blown out by UM/A&M. We beat a losing record UK team. If BN wins 6 games (FSU should be a W so that only requires 1/4 w/ UGA, lsu, ole miss and texas), that is no great shakes. FOR UF! Two losing seasons and praying to beat one of 3 powers or ole miss is not the goal. Certainly not in year 3 after two losing seasons. Beat FSU and go 2-2 in the other games and a conversation should occur. Second, we lost our best skill players last year. Why folks think BN keeps DJ vs a new coach is, at best, open to debate. Our recruiting is terrible now. We need the best coach, not keeping a coach for fear a player leaves (defined by NIL or whatever).
Flawed thinking is when you think a coach who hasn’t beaten a single Top 20 team in almost 3 years is going to beat 2 of them in the span of 4 weeks. You are free to dream big. I won’t get in the way. But please save the “flawed thinking” sermons.
My wife loves to squeeze pimples. She actually starts to salivate when she finds one on me. Anything to make her happy. God I love that woman!
