Interesting that we're ahead of Kentucky to start. Would really like to see that series turned around.
Here is the SEC predicted order of finish: 1. Alabama 2. Auburn 3. Tennessee 4. Arkansas 5. Texas A&M 6. Florida 7. Texas 8. Kentucky 9. Ole Miss 10. Mississippi State 11. South Carolina 12. Georgia 13. Missouri 14. LSU 15. Oklahoma 16. Vanderbilt
Obviously biased, but with the experience on this team and likely the best backcourt in the SEC, I just don't see how Florida is 6th in the SEC. I think the people who made that list are just going off status quo opinions. UF has a better roster this year and against the teams ranked ahead of us, this is what happened last year: 1. UF slapped Bama around last year winning 2 of 3 and the one loss was in OT. 2. Split with Auburn and would have beat them twice if it weren't for Micah's catastrophic injury 3. Tennessee was clearly better than UF last year 4. Beat Arky the one time we played 5. Split series with A&M and the game we lost was by 1 point.
Im shocked we are ranked at all. This is going to be a total crapshoot with Kentucky. We have 12 new players, all new staff, and a total mind shift change to college athletics. It is going to be refreshing, but we may be awful. How many years have I posted under Calipari that I wanted to blow things up and start from scratch. I have my wish now let’s see what happens.
Awful? Hardly. There's a lot of talent at UK and a smart new coach. It may take a month or two, but UK will quite good before March.
I was pissed when Pope was first announced, but he has won me over. I hope you are right Gator Planet that we will be better than I think. If we could finish 11-7 or 12-6 in the SEC I’d be happy. Even if we are not very good it’s a step in the right direction. I am looking forward to ball movement, shooting, and a coach who changes defenses.
