All the more reason CBN has to go. We thought before the season that everyone we play would be unstoppable. Now we see that Miami has a bad defense, Kentucky a bad offense, Georgia a bad offense, Tennessee and Texas shaky qb under pressure, Ole Miss not a complete team, UCF horrible, and FSU more than pitiful. It turns out this was a year to make a run. Instead, we are in no position to do that. All we will do is beat bad teams, and CBN limits our talent. This was a good win. Don't take me wrong, but this isn't season defining. Give this team to a great coach, and we would have been flying like this from the beginning of the season.
Unfortunately Marshall was in a sling. He’s probably going to miss some time. We need everybody for Jawja
Ok Murph .. go ahead and bang on me. I read his stuff and I think he was complimenting his professional manner. I get it . I like you man and I’m sure I take this context different.
Agree with your last sentence/ give this team to a great play caller/ much different. BUT- not every team comes together in game 1. Miami undefeated. A&M pretty good and that was a weird game with delays. so here is my take Positives - offense completely different with deep ball available. OL giving Lag some time Receivers are pretty good Baugh is special We are led by TWO true fresh The defense has turned a corner on tackling, assignments, gap control negative Playcalling on offense Aggression on offense Rythym /flow/tempo on offense No pressure on QB this team wins 2 more. Goes to a bowl. Billy hires an OC. That’s what’s gonna happen like it or not
I was all rainbows and sunshine about CBN until the Miami game. I'm just realistic now. CBN does some good things, but he mixes in so much bad. I wish I could just celebrate a win because Lagway, Baugh, Badger, Dike, the OL, the LB, and everybody else played their hearts out and deserve being praised. Go Gators.
2 more is asking a lot, but it could happen with Lagway. Agree with most of your points. Despite winning today, I see how bad our self evaluation was before the season that led to so many secondary players playing who shouldn't have been in the rotation, and the shuffling of OL players when it should have been obvious who the starters should have been and which plays they were capable to perform and which they weren't. The secondary and OL have taken huge strides since game 1. It didn't need to take that long.
Vandagriff has been a huge disappointment imo. He is single handedly holding your favorite team back. It might be time to go back to the WR running a wildcat offense again. Ball control and lean on that defense.
My goodness!! He's not going to hire an OC. Why would he now?? Especially with Lagway. He's going to hoard all that credit to himself if he can. If he hires an OC now, he's admitting guilt and (in his mind) admitting he was wrong and needs help. But he won't make it to the offseason for us to find out, so it's a non-issue. He's not keeping his job just because we beat a team that we beat for 30 straight years.
@dailydoublecat is a "respected rival" and I think HallGator gave him that title in NBN. Even if not, Hall liked him and I've never seen DDC act in any way but classy. He shows-up to congratulate us so let's make sure we are just as classy winners. OK? I say that because I don't know what you meant either . . . but it's way past my bedtime. I can't go to sleep after a nice win like this. Just everyone know DDC is OK.
Georgia @Texas vs. LSU Hate to be that guy, but... those are all losses. Those 3 teams are all well-coached, legit Top 10 teams. Brian Kelly is a helluva coach. It took me a while to admit it, but he is. So that puts us at 4-6 right there. Ole Miss at home? Probably not going to win, especially since Ole Miss has a bye the week before. They'll be well rested while our boys will be beaten up a bit after that 3-game gauntlet. So most likely 4-7 going into FSU at Tallahassee. Yep, FSU sucks this year, but it's a rivalry game and guess who else has a bye week before that game? FSU. Oh yeah, they do have an outdoor scrimmage the week before our game against 1-6 Charleston Southern who ESPN gives a 1% chance of winning. I suppose they have to practice. But the point is, they have Charleston Southern and we're coming off of 4 straight weeks against the best of the best of the SEC. FSU will come to play in that game. Too many Florida kids with pride on their roster not to. But let's assume we beat FSU. 5-7... just like last year. He's gone, brotha.
Dude, let me ‘splain something to ya. Billy is NOT getting any more money for staff. OC’s cost a mil plus and require multiple years, at least 2. Billy had his chance, and has cost UF 10’s of millions of dollars to get to this point. This is his ship and he is going down or up with it in its current configuration. We already owe this guy $26 mil. Do you want it to be more?
How about let this *HOMECOMING* win breath a little PS: the team the showed up tonight in the Swamp, could beat UGA and Texas, and therefore of course, LSU. PPS: UGA squeaked by UK (whom we just beat by 4 TD's) by 1 pt; then beat Texas handly. PPPS: why should we be worried about rival FSU bc rivalry n all... but Georgia need not worry about us...rivalry n all notwithstanding???
You are looking at it as if the whole league is in 2023 still. This SEC is different this year for some reason. It has seemed to have evened out. Miss State is 1-6 and has played every team pretty tough. Vandy beat BAmA, Bama, beat Georgia, Georgia struggled to beat Kentucky 14-13. Kentucky beat Ole Miss. We gave Tenn the game, and Tenn just beat BAmA. Heck Texas A&M is in first place in the SEC. It looks like something has pulled this team together since the bye. We are better than F$U, we will beat another team and my homerism is saying we are going to knock two of the big boys off. But at the end of the day I could be completely wrong. Go Gators
