I was there. One of my favorite Gator games ever. Jimmy Buffet sang the National Anthem and sat right in front of me. As gung ho as I was in the Spurrier years, I was even more gung ho in the Pell/Hall years. So much fun.
Are you KIDDING me? BAMA claims titles for 5 -5 teams or some such nonsense. They claim titles in the early 70's based on UPI rankings BEFORE bowl games. 1973 ND 24 Bama 23 Sugar bowl, yet those cretins claim it as a National Championship, and NUMEROUS other examples.
Yep. So we should 100% claim that SEC title...and frankly the NYT National title as well. If we had done it right away, no one would bat an eye today. Put the signage up in The Swamp.
Stricklestein could overcome some lost goodwill by the fanbase if everyone walked Into the Swamp tomorrow to see one of the SEC championship years covered by a tarp and revealed during the ceremony. It's Strickilmeister's one chance to give UF an SEC title.
Yep. Alonzo’s son and maybe more of his family should be on the field with the team. If he wears a #93 jersey you will think you are looking at ‘Zo down there again. I know this will be his older sister’s first Gator game, so make her feel welcome if you bump into her.
Does anyone know if the parking garage down across G Lemerand Dr from the band practice field is still free parking game day? This will be my first game this year and that’s where we have parked the last couple years.
I read that 20 members of the squad are deceased. I sure hope Neal Anderson, Adrian White, Kerwin Bell, Ricky Nattiel, Frankie Neal, Lomas Brown, and other '84 Gator greats can make it. John L. being 2-bits is fantastic. They should add the '84 Gators to the SEC Championship wall, the '85 Gators next year, and the '90 Gators thereafter. Strickland has the power to right some past wrongs.
Was there. The “Discard the Trojans” bed sheet sign that raised a few eyebrows when walked in front of the student side was my roommate and his cousin. Good times, indeed.
Jeff sadly won’t be there to enjoy this well deserved honor with his teammates. Carter's Corner: Remembering Jeff Zimmerman, a Member of the "Great Wall of Florida" Offensive Line - Florida Gators
Kerwin was on Shane’s podcast and said he was not going to be able to make it due to his teams game time.
