FWIW I've only attended two scrimmages and I assume parking will be impossible Saturday, but here are a few observations that grabbed my attention:
Ty Evans may be the breakout guy this coming season. His bat is hot to start the fall- 6 for 10, 1HR, 3 2B, 2 walks, 1 SO
Young pitchers have had some good moment, but too many walks
Transfer-in position players all look smooth in the field, so far, but what about their bats? Bosor hit the ball on the nose several times, including hard-hit outs.
Many more basestealing attempts than past seasons. Many players making attempts. Donay nailed two last Saturday, but the other catchers got none.

Sunday's scrimmage produced the best pitching so far this fall. Peterson started the show by striking out the side in his one inning, then King Whitenour, Janssens, Barlow, Biemiller and Jenkins mowed down opposing hitters, lotsa Ks. Heyman had a 1B and a 2B, Cyr had a 1B and Evans had a 3B when Wilson couldn't make a diving catch. I think that was all of the base hits. There were a couple of walks and two caught stealing.

I hesitate to suggest ANYONE already has won a job already, but a few guys are hitting well enough this fall and have performed well enough in the past that that it's easy to guess they will be in the opening night lineup. Evans easily is the top offensive player and seems ready to crash into the right field foul wall whenever that's what the play requires. I was somewhat slow to accept ANY transfer from scUM, but Cyr hits and plays good defense and seems likely to win either RF or CF. Heyman is hitting well, too, while there are crowds at DH, C and 1B, Heyman will play at one of those spots. Those three seem most solid, but Kurland and Shelton seem likely to hold on to the positions, too, in spite of promising play from newcomers in the INF- Boser seems to have a slight lead in that group. No one has played themselves out of a position, yet.

I would add Nadeau to the guys that have really performed well this fall. I don't know how it plays out, but that kid seems really impressive to me. Him, Boser, Cyr and Jones are 4 really really good position player additions. Going to have some nice depth options for sure not even considering true freshmen

Jones brings in strong credentials for both offense and defense and has played well in CF at some scrimmages, but has not played at all in others. However, he has not yet batted in the scrimmages- or in BP- I've attended or in GatorGal's play by play coverage. He pinch ran for Evans after a triple, but was stranded. There simply is too much good competition for OF positions to guess which of them win positions. Nadeau, Cyr and Jones have shared CF, so far, and all three have played good D, but Robertson and Guy played solid CF defense last year, but were not reliable at bat.
