Would have been a great Monday press conference question. Someone with a list of defensive players that "dropped", asking CBN for current injury status. ;)

The announcers apparently forgot who coaches the Gators.

You want a fake injury? How about the Steve Spurrier designed play in which Wuerffel limped off the field as if injured, so Kresser could come in and surprise the defense with a long pass completion?

    How low-class can you get?

different context than faking an injury so the official stop play, preventing a hurry up offense from being able to quickly execute

The first one, Moten? His was a real injury. He got up holding his shoulder like he had a stinger, tried running to the sideline, kept getting blocked by UT players getting back to their huddle so he dropped. Gumbs….not sure about that one. He did get up pretty quick and started moving fine before going down. Maybe he got hurt and didn’t realize it right away. Adrenaline is a crazy thing. He probably wasn’t hurt though. I also don’t care about it until they enforce it because every team does it to us when we finally put a drive together.

Self loathing has been a part..a part of the Gator psyche..for a long time. Part of that has been, imhfo, pride in the successes of the state, not just the “national championships”. jmo.
And..because we have seen strong athletic accomplishments in many sports, yes, indeed, we have expectations. Expectations are like juggling razor sharp swords…cuts both ways if mishandled.
That is also why we “complain” here and elsewhere when our beloved football team does not dominate. Not just win, but seen as growing stronger year after year.
    That ..THAT..is where we are.

Mertz is a cheerleader now. He did good.
Lagway will save CBN or not.it is a win or die six game season now. The toughest part of the season.
I, like all of you, will be a Gator till I take my last breath. I, and several former..and current members of my family including those who are Gators in curriculum..right now, will join me.

JUST WIN BOYZ. WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE YOUR BACK.

Just take tge player out the entire possession and that’ll curb most of the fakers.

Agree, but a ton of Gator fans think we are. Pretty annoying. Esp when those same fans throw stones at other schools while in our glass house. :D

I don't like it either, but I would not say we're in that group of teams that abuse the injury timeouts.

Just like anything, there are DEGREES of "guilt," and we are far down on that list of abusers.

I just hope our next guy do NOT abuse that clock stoppage to get a break or rest his players.

4 and 1/2 pages, and no one mentioned soccer dives?

Diving in soccer is a high art. When the player gets up, the fans don't applaud bc he's ok--that was never in doubt-they applaud the performance, and the contribution to the drama. :p

Bumper sticker and slogan from the 80's:

"It's hard to be humble when you're a Gator."

Gators have always been a cocky lot, long before I stepped foot on campus--which was before Spurrier's return as "just an OBC", and all the official success.

The swag was palpable with SOS with the Bandits, Cris Collinsworth in the booth, Nat Moore w the fish, Jack Youngblood, John Reeves, Carlos Avarez, Larry Libertore.... all dudes who even preceded Pell's Gators (off top of my head-- I'm sure there were plenty others).

The thing is, Gumbs was probably the last person on that line we would have told to drop on 3rd and 7 in the red zone. Not saying we didn't do some of that.

Honestly, we rarely give the opposing team a need to do this against us when we are moving the ball ever so smoothly down the field. It seems much more likely that we would be doing this against an opposing team than them doing it to us. But I look at stuff like this, if it's against the rules, then let the refs call it. If it's not against the rules, then why not use it to your advantage to try to win?

    Go GATORS!

It’s not against the rules? Try telling the ref you are faking an injury. It just can’t be proven. If they are going to allow hurry up offense, they need to make injured players stay out more than one play. Getting a cheap breather for your nt because he can’t play five consecutive plays is not how the rules are supposed to work. The honor system Bobby will never work.
