Yes. But we play UCF and get thumped by UCF, a staff that has had less time to recruit and develop, and SBB is going to look like a clueless man trying to explain it in his post game, valium presser.

 

I would absolutely love to be able to watch the coaching staff prepare for a game during the week, just once.

I wonder about the following:

Napier may have worked with the defense now for two weeks. Would this cause him to think about how he would attack our defense and take measures to counter it?

If we’re going to focus so much on stopping their running game, might they not come out passing?

How about our first down play calling? We seem to like to run up the middle on first downs. Don’t we have any other plays we can run on first downs? Like, throwing it long to loosen up the defense?

 

We wish. It could be something he intends to deal with this off season.

I do not know. It would seem the staff has to stop one or the other and run has been ucf's strength. When we've lost we stopped neither.

Or mid range pass, depending on the QB- Mertz usually misses the longer throws. Will be watching to see how often we run on first down.

 

2.7ypr for 108 total is what UCF had tonight. Where’s that poster that was telling us how great the UCF run game is?

I'll gladly eat that crow, leave a better taste in my mouth than what this D has for several years.

 

We’re all happier with the defensive effort. Not perfect by any means, but they could potentially get us to .500 by the time we mudstomp the SOW Holes.

I’ll go on record and predict a 3-9 season. FSU sucks, but if we lose the next 6 (which is perfectly reasonable to expect), there will either be an interim HBC by that point or Napier will be the lamest duck to walk the face of the earth by that point. The Noles will take advantage of the disarray.
