For those that have attended the WCWS, how did you handle ticket purchases? Is it best to buy all sessions to ensure you get tix to the games you want to see most and then maybe sell unused ones or can you wait till team times are announced? Also, would you recommend staying right near the stadium? I hear it is a very walkable area around the stadium but I also hear there is a smaller town environment a short ride away that people enjoy as well.
One year I was able to buy 2 tickets to all games of the MCWS. Sold the non-Gator games and paid for the tickets and all my expenses for the series. Of course, that was years ago but I would think you could easily sell the non Gator games. Can't comment on lodging.
Lol a lawyer from South Carolina took all the Gamecock tickets at a premium. Made things very easy and profitable.
If you can get all sessions, do it. Like Iowa said, you should have no issue getting rid of the extras, and you can probably fetch enough of a premium to cover your tickets and some, possibly all, other expenses. When we went a couple years ago, we left Gainesville without tickets, and it was stressful getting our hands on some, but we did it. There’s plenty of tickets available, but finding a decent price is hard. Tons of people buying them just for resale. Lodging, we stayed about 6 miles away in a cool little area that had several hotels, and a little shopping village with several bars and restaurants. I can’t remember what the area was called but can look it up if you want to know. Parking near the stadium was like 20-30 bucks a day and the furthest we had to park was about three blocks. There is plenty of lodging within walking distance of the stadium as well, and there’s several other little hubs slightly further away similar to where we stayed.
