Interesting article but the title is grossly incorrect. I mean it has almost nothing to do with football program's NIL efforts. They use numbers from 2005 - 2022. I think NIL started mid 2021. They reference Boone Picken's $120 million donation for student wellness and health center.

"Former Aggies athletic director Ross Bjork said last spring that Texas A&M athletes have signed NIL deals worth approximately $10 million. That number is now dwarfed by a $20 million estimation at his new school, Ohio State." How can Texas A&M be ranked 2 and Ohio State be ranked 11.

I wonder if the author was paid for this article.

The garbage that poses for writing now a days is just unbelievable. So much stuff is written by Chat GPT and then just jammed into a clickbait title. The other day I saw something that was top 10 XYZ. Now, I hate top 10 lists but it was an interesting topic. It basically forwarded me to another article that was the top nine XYZ. And those things really had nothing to do with the original title.

Basically most of these articles are churn out a topic and throw some trash in there. Followed by abruptly ending the article in the middle of a thought. All about the clicks baby.

At least we are up there. Obviously we value the entire athletic program as a whole, not just football like some of our competitors.

Heck, if they are going to talk about what they did, lets compare Federal research funding too.

When I played baseball at UF in the mid 70’s Gary came out as a walking . He got hurt , I think his shoulder. Anyway we went out quite a few times with the rest
Of the guys. Like the rest of us we had barely enough mo ey for a 75 cents beer. He went his way and unfortunately I went the other .

Unfortunately, the UAA seems to forget that when we're winning football and basketball championships, we're at the absolute top of all college programs for revenue. Apparel sales, tickets and concessions, and brand exposure goes through the roof. UF was top 3 right there with Alabama just a few years ago.

They are losing out on an additional 20-50Mil per year because they're apparently content with being top 15 in revenue vs top 5. UF's poor on field football performance has resulted in them being dropped to #15 from #8 and is at least $20m behind UGA, and nearly $80 million behind Ohio State @ #1.

That additional money could easily fund all non-revenue-generating sports.

Wow...I didn't realize that there was such a precipitous drop. It seems like even back in the '80's UF was always in the top 5 for Merch, tickets, etc. Some poor business ppl over at the UAA.

I think they get it now as we are spending on football like crazy under Napier. It just hasn’t equate to wins yet.

Naw, they don't get it. They keep hiring the wrong putzes with stupid money contracts to lead the most important revenue program on-campus.

I find the information rather "generic", now if they "broke it down" by how much each player is getting, whom is listed on the roster, each year, well, that would be infinitely more satisfying.
