With the talent he could get in the state of Florida, the 7-8 games a year equate to 10-11 games a year.
Stoops is a lot like Saban. His teams tend to start off slowly but once they click, that's when they can beat anybody. The issue is peaking too early and injuries that doomed Kentucky late in the season. But I've taken a win away against them, not seeing us beat them if their defense shuts us down because our defense will still give up 30+.
If he hired an aggressive OC I think he’d be an improvement here. I think 9+ wins a year would be delightful after the past 3+ seasons.
Look at UK's schedule so far. They lost the USCe game because of too many turnovers, including a pick 6. They gave SC a short field to kick a FG and another that ended up being a 43 yard TD drive. Take all that away, and the game is much closer. But besides that game, they shutout Southern Miss, held Georgia to 12 points and now Ole Miss to 17.
Stoops looks unhealthy to me as well as a perennially "also ran." I am astonished that anyone would suggest Jimbo.
I'm with you. Their 4 wins: Furman, MTSU, Wake, Georgia Southern. Wake leading the pack at #88 in Sagarin. They are at South Carolina next week, currently 78% predicted to win. But Sagarin has USC at #26, one behind UK (after today's win.) USC at home with a bye week this week...
He didn't come to mind, but a real loss. We lost quite a few that are productive in different systems.
Take away the ole Miss fumble, miss d fg and penalties, stoops loses this game. It all counts. With stoops offense things have to go perfect to get a win against good teams.
