Maybe because no one outside of Gainesville is impressed. If his name wasn’t KB and UF hired the HC from Western Carolina people would lose their shit.

 

In reference to UF, specifically, I think Kerwin doesn’t have the “polish” of persona the admin envisions in their HC. I truly think it’s just that simple.
Also, Kerwin played so many years between NFL/CFL, he got a fairly late start into coaching. His first job as HC was at Trinity Catholic in Ocala…..where he literally built the program from the ground up, into a Championship winning program. So, his first 6yrs coaching was high school, which he started after a lengthy (13y) pro playing career. It just hasn’t been great timing.

The funny thing is, this board was filled with posters who argued adamantly for the inception of NIL because the players were being taken advantage of. Haven't heard hardly anyone argue that it was the right thing to do since. But, we all know that the horse is out of the barn, and he's not coming back.

 

I take it you were like me about the NIL and what that would lead to. I always saw the NIL as a gateway to far more insidious changes to college football. That's why I was dead set against it from the beginning.

According to the SCOTUS, that IS THE DEAL... But the House thinks they can just take over laws governing student athletes, and the laws of amateurism in sports. I think these clowns in the House know that they could be in for a rude awakening if it gets to the highest court. It's all about power and control, and all the little schools are begging to get a piece of that big Power Four Conference pie and playoff money too.

The best deal for the student athletes is the NIL deal we currently have... All other "deals" that the House has concocted will RESTRICT THEIR MOVEMENTS (portal freedom) and deal making.

Katie is one of the few on this staff who should be retained.
