He lost to other elite schools (Harbaugh's Michigan teams the last few years, and Georgia in the playoffs) by slim margins. They beat the hell out of everyone else and I'm fairly certain he has the best record among all active coaches. I would take him at Florida in a heartbeat

 

Yes. No problem with much of your list. Urban is a wish, Gruden is a no for me. I was disagreeing with Chris Klieman as being our best option after Lane. I think a hire like that keeps the natives restless and would be a source of great disappointment to the team and the fans. Also, I think the landscape has changed for coaches as well. NIL and the portal have influenced their decision making. I don’t think we will see the loyalty to an institution like years ago. Last year we saw coaches move from power teams, coaches who we didn’t think were going to move. Yet they did! UF needs to do better and swing for the fences with this next hire. That is what I was disagreeing with.

 

And I completely agree with that. For the record, I wasn't saying Klieman is our second best option, and honestly don't know who I would prefer if we can't land Kiffin. Just offering my opinions for those coaches in a response to the other guy who posted those names. And for those who I said we have no shot, I hope I'm wrong. Just the unfortunate reality of modern day Florida football.
