Legit top jobs in college football by conference – where you can realistic sustain winning year after year and compete for national titles annually.
Any team in the modern era can strike lightning in a bottle and have a break out year, I’m talking truly sustainable – where a coach won’t leave for a bigger better job and Its considered a dream job. If one of these jobs comes open, you have to make the move:

    Big 10
    Ohio State
    Michigan
    USC

    Independent
    Notre Dame

    SEC
    Georgia
    LSU
    Florida
    Bama
    Texas
    Tenn

ACC - biggest questions on the list, given the current conference shakeup, might not be the dream job anymore - but the conference is so easy, it's an easy path annually to success
    FSU
    Clemson

I left Oklahoma, do they deserve to be on the list? -- i probably would have included them.

Others to be mentioned, but don’t deserve to make the list
Oregon – too many coaches have left to make this list
A&M – more resources than god, but never have won consistently
Auburn – hardest one to leave off, but I think many wouldn’t take this job – 2nd fiddle in the state and boosters calling the shots – ugly situation

Most of the top coaches want to win a national title and be the next Nick Saban. Yes there are tons of Cutcliffes out there, coaches looking for a good year compete for a conference title, but know realistically they don't have what it takes to be a top dog year after year after year.

Florida is the best job in the SEC. Save for maybe Bama, the tradition of championships, excellence and fan expectations over the last 30 years puts Florida at the top. Or very close to Bama, at the very least. Honorable mention goes to Georgia and Oklahoma.

Peyton Manning once lost to us four times in a row, there was a man named Tebow who once played for us and one of our lauded HBC’s once had his dog coach up our starting QB. Only Florida.

I'm not sure of the order, but Texas and LSU have to be in the top 5 of SEC jobs right?

I think UGA is a solid #3 due to their recent dominance and tradition notwithstanding. LSU probably deserves a Top 5 spot, yes.

    Oregon is a top job
From 1977-2016 they had 4 coaches.
3 moved on to the pros and 1 retired.
    Since 2017
    Taggart jumped to FSU
Cristobal went to his alma mater, Miami
    Lanning is currently the coach.

They have had less turnover than Florida

Now that they are in the Big10 it is absolutely a top job

I think it was an easy road to 10 wins job.
I would not put it in the elite class with Bama

But yes one of the better jobs in the country

Chip Kelly was there and won big, but has pretty much stunk it up since leaving.

It depends on ones definition of "best". Remember do-ray-me is KING in the good ole USA -

tamu - pays out what? 78 - 86 million for sucking? Now thats, a damn good job!
fswho - may pay out 68 mil for sucking
UF - may pay out 26.3 for sucking

    Sign me up please!

yea, but you can't have taggart, cristobal jump -- that's my point -- its no doubt a great job.
but if Georgia opens up, Lanning is audi 5 in my opinion for example. I don't know the truth about bama, but he wasn't ready to leave in my opinion, but if Kirby called it quits in 2 years and they call Lanning, only a fool turns that job down

I think it's different now. Being in the Big10 makes it a destination job. They have the money and the facilities to complete.

One more year at Oregon and Lanning would have just as many years as Georgia. Four.
He really doesn't have deep ties to the south.
Born and played college ball in northern Missouri.
Coached both easy and West Coast.

This. Oregon is unquestionably one of the best jobs in CFB for no other reason than they haven’t hired a clown coach in like 50 years. If UF was such a great job we wouldn’t be firing coaches every 3 years for failing. The best schools win no matter who the coach is.

That is what is so maddening about our struggles. A program with the fanbase, money, resources, location that ours has shouldn't suck this bad for this long. Wasted potential as the years roll by. #sad.
Every program has ups and downs. Bama wasn't on top forever, uga won't be either. but damn......

Well I disagree. It has been mismanaged but even Bear Bryant knew Florida was a sleeping juggernaut decades ago. The OBC proved it. Coach Meyer proved it wasn't luck. Now we just need to get back to what got us where we were.

It's going to happen to every program. Sometimes things just don't align with boosters, ADs, players ect. Florida will be elite once again it's just a matter of time.

I think Florida is a elite program but Texas is the best job or Georgia. Those schools have access to unlimited talent and money. They don't have a instate rival that can compete either. Florida has to deal with Miami and FSU two elite programs for recruits every year. That's not something Texas or Georgia have to deal with.

Yep. I only think scUM and the Holes are where they are though because Florida has been down for so long. Once we start kicking butt and taking names and get the swagger back we'll have access to the same nationwide talent pool plus enough talent in our own backyard that won't be as easily lured away. The LegHumpers, while up for now, like Clemson, like UcheaT, have to raid other states. Florida can (potentially) mostly wall of Florida like Texas does and LSU does.

For the all the money and talent the state of Texas has it's only had 1 National Championship Team in the last 30 years

I think the state of Florida has had 9
