They do have the elite playmakers, go take an actual look at their roster. It is top 5 in the nation. Why is the portal so important to everyone? If one recruits adequately it is entirely unnecessary. You've simply swallowed the narrative. Again, if his last two QB's didn't play like wusses,(BOTH WERE THE TOP PROSPECTS IN THEIR CLASS) they wouldn't have missed the playoffs. Go look at their losses last year, turnovers especially. Clemson beat themselves in every loss excluding NCSU who straight up beat them on the LOS. Now go and show me a player who was an upgrade for them that was in the portal.

Why use a portal when your current players are better? Stop buying the ESPN narrative. He isn't anti portal, he's just not going to give a scholly to players who aren't as good as the guys already in the locker room and why should he? To appease irrational people who are adamant that it must be used? Worked really well for the Noles last year, but, left them holding their meat in the cold this year. Seriously, someone go and tell me why he should other than to regurgitate what they saw on the TV. Name a player from the portal who is even ranked higher than the player at the same position at Clemson. They have a better roster than the entire ACC and SEC outside of BAMA and UGA.
