Heard on some podcast today about how this is similar to Nebraska's situation a few years ago with Scott Frost. By letting him go early, they were able to be the first in the hunt for a good replacement. This was before Rhule got fired from his Carolina job, but Nebraska was able to get ahead of the coaching search. And now it’s considered a very good hire considering he’s brought them back to prominence.

FTR, don't see Admin as going to former coaches for help, unless they do not intend to allow current AD in the process. There is a process to hiring coaches of all college sports. Would they really admit they are this clueless?
