The big difference is that Kirby had been DC at Alabama for 7 years and Nick's primary recruiter. Can we say the same thing about Schumann? He might be the up and comer that someone will regret not hiring, but he seems still a little green right now.
I like this post and for the most part agree. I think some of us get too full of ourselves at times. It’s not a given that Kiffin would abandon what he has at Ole Miss for us. I do think the Florida lifestyle may be a little more appealing to him than living in Mississippi, but he may have become acclimated to a more rural way of life: not probable, but who knows. Regardless, Ole Miss is loving football right and they will do what they can to keep him.
True but I think FSU is showing that you can't rely on it every year. You still need a solid level of HS recruiting.
I think its imperative that you have a good mixture of both. BN and UF are paying the price on being slow to recognize this even though Mullen had a few excellent scores in the transfer market for a couple of years there.
My top priority is: where do my kids live? I know he has a daughter at Ole Miss. I have no idea where the others live.
Your base has to be high school recruits and then you sprinkle in a few transfers to put you over the top.
If we lose a bidding war for Kiffen to Ole Piss, then they will be expecting a lot more (like TAMMY expected from Jimbo) and 3-4 losses per just won't cut it. Looking at SOS and Urb hires, neither were established as P5 consistent winners. SOS could have a flash-in-the-pan at Duke and Urbs was certainly the flavor-of-the-day up and comer. We don't have any history of hiring established coaches
Seeing how most of us thought for sure after Saturday's game BN would no longer be the Head Coach, and apparently he has not had any discussions regarding his future at UF.... I dont think anyone really knows what is going on between SS, the UAA, and the boosters. So what do yall think?
That would make a lot of sense. I truly think he is still the coach right now just because of the chaos that would ensue with 4 days to prep for a road game with no head coach. A loss to UCF in the swamp would absolutely be unbearable for the boosters. They will pull the funding if it does not happen then.
Life happens in patterns…. So, as soon as Pat Drooley tells us it ain’t going to happen, it will happen the next day.
If Miss. State puts a beat down on us, say 42 -7, he will be fired on the Tarmac. vomit emoji Boston Whaler Gator
