I remember it vividly to this day. We had cowbells ringing nonstop just behind us, the entire game. Later in the game we started getting pelted in the back with Purina dog bones from higher above. No fun! Oh, and Shane was just intercepted again..
I'm looking forward to both MSU and FSU simply because they look less competent than do the Gators. The games could go either way, but, I do expect that we get to enjoy those. My point is, no one will be gleaming with new found hope from winning either of them.
You guys don't learn, do you. Go look at the last 3 years. You can count the number of road wins with the boy scout salute. We just made a Heisman candidate with a RS freshman last week, so be prepared to see 600 yards passing against us. Toledo is undefeated, they would boat race us out of the Swamp. Miss St almost beat a 3-0 Arizona St team on the road. Miss St's weakness is our weakness and their strength is also our weakness. They can't run the ball well at all, less than 70 yards in both of their losses, but they threw the ball very well in all 3 games. It's what kept them in the games, but Toledo came in and threw and ran very very well. We have not shown we can run well, flashes here and there but nothing close to 300 yards a game like Arizona St and nearly 200 yards from Toledo. The issue is Miss St is going to play against the weakest defense they have faced all year so far. Their QB will set records if we can't pressure him. He's completing 70% of his passes for nearly 900 yards with 7 TDs and only 1 INT. Worse, we aren't expecting get back 2 key players any time soon - Wilson and Turner. That will make it pretty easy to shut us down by focusing on one other player since our other receivers are meh.
How depressing that would be to get blown out in Starkeville? MSU has to know that if they get up by two scores, this team may fold. Does BN still " have the locker room"?
Any win at this point would be welcome... More rambling... I just saw the team statistics outlined on On3. If you take a gander at those numbers, it's a freaking brutally honest example of just how poorly we're showing up nationally, across the board. Statistically, we can't do anything. Quite frankly, I was surprised we were that bad. Yellow teeth and Mullen gave us some decent wins. Muschamp had our defense rocking for a minute. Other than that, we've managed to drop so far into mediocrity it's baffling. Maybe losing the rest of our games will bring out the big money and get us the big name coach we need. There's no place like the Swamp on a Saturday. I don't give a crap what anyone says! Strickland is overpaid, Napier is way overpaid. If we spent money the right way years ago, we'd of saved a ton and we'd be winners now and jaded like Georgia because they almost lost a game. But we didn't, and now is the time. Screw remodeling the stadium. Spend that money for 'THE BEST coach' and channel more into NIL. Miami did and they bitch-slapped us pretty bad. See their ranking for evidence. ( Excuse the expression). Ya can't do things on the cheap and expect positive results. You get what you pay for... (or not) Go Gators.
That certainly did not apply in the second half when Mertz was making some hay passing. He kept up the same rotation all game long.
