This is all correct. I saw this debate as a hurdle for Harris which she cleared. As to your post above, which is true, the question is if some people have grown tired of the idiocy. Clearly his base hasn’t but is there a small percent in the middle that after 8 years just want this nonsense to end? To the extent there is this performance did nothing to stop those who may feel this way. On the flip side, did his performance actually convince anybody on the fence to vote for him? It is hard to imagine.

This may especially be true if a majority of the people watching detected the bias from the ABC moderators. In fact, there's probably a decent chunk of people who would say Kamala won the debate, but would also say the moderators were biased against Trump. I think that is why these "poor" debate performances from Trump never seem to matter. You don't have to be a dog to hear the loaded questions they ask him every time.
