Very little to complain about tonight.

 

I see it as a pretty different situation. Franks was a high ceiling guy, Trask a two star. Here we have five star Lagway and Mertz whose advantage is maturity and a higher floor.

 

Making an observation about the relative talents of two university employees when one is clearly more capable than the other is not the same as leveling criticism.
Mertz vs FCS team that ended up winless: 14/17 for 193 and a score. Longest reception was Ricky at 50 yards. Second longest was 16.

Lagway today: 18/25 for 456 and 3 scores. 4 separate receivers have longs of over 35 yards (excluding Trey and his 85 yarder).

To say Lagway hasn't clearly shown more top end ability is objectively wrong.

I don't that the OL being bad is "very little" but I get the sentiment.
