by A LOT of accounts, Kiffin, Riley, and Kelly all expressed [some] interest in the job after Mullen was fired buuuut here we are
In Mullen’s process he was allegedly the 3rd or 4th choice. Did the others targets just say nope, or was it money weren’t a fit etc… I only got to 136 in the old thread
I’d throw the bank at Riley. He’s never won any huge games either but he at least beat lsu and seems to have more integrity than kiff has shown in the past. I’d rather tie 100 mil to him on his word than kiff. Less chance of a dumbo fisher situation where he quits working and just collects his check.
The issue about Ring is that for some reason, the Powers that be established objective criteria for inclusion, including NFL accomplishments that have nothing to do with Florida. By that criteria, Meyer certainly is overqualified for induction.
Didn’t he get USC to buy him that house, and buy his house(s?) in Oklahoma above market value too? As well as unlimited access to a private jet? His contract is nuts.
Not so sure about Riley’s interest in UF. Word is he was the only coach at OU to voice an opinion against joining the SEC. He also was offered every thing he would want and more from LSU….
Yep, so did TAMU with Jimbo except Riley’s contract is even more insane. Neither producing a championship product though. Simply spending a shit ton of money guarantees nothing.
That’s correct and you can just get lucky too at 6 mil. Bama promptly gave Debour 10 mil and in wait and see mode with a guy that made the four team playoff.
Measuring integrity and honor is a subjective thing. If this was the guiding principle, there never would have been objective criteria.
And there is no obnoxious state income tax in Gainesville, nor as much crime or homelessness. And the beach is only 55 minutes away.
Where he lives, he is not bothered by the crime or homelessness. He is on the ocean. Palos Verdes Estates, California - Wikipedia
Being retired in Malibu is one thing but getting to work, I’d want a helicopter. LA traffic is something else. Tge only thing that would bring him would be opposite of running from the sec, running to the competition. Some guys just want the smoke.
He has a personal driver. He just sits in the back and gets work done Lincoln Riley Didn’t Like His Parking Spot At USC So He Got Upgrade
I’ve seen and heard this being discussed on several other forums too. Mark Hocke, the $750k per year Director of Motivation, one of Billy’s top personal pets, was up in the press box during a BIG home game, eating nachos. smdh!
