75 Waites, RT "Ole", 70 George, LG (this play) "Ole". George was listed as starting RG, but was in at LG this play was the one loafing after the INT. Horrendous effort from both.
They sucked at blocking and then loafed after the int. Thats about as bad a lowlight as an OL can have. They'll probably get game balls from the staff today.
Normally, I would agree with you, but I actually thought that was smart. We weren't getting any pressure when we rushed four, so may as well drop them into coverage. We kept Miami out of the end zone on their first drive by doing that. Of course, the real problem was that our D-line play was just plain sad. I don't think it mattered how many we rushed.
I am starting to believe Nape plays players based more on whether they bring notepads to meetings and know their roommates parents names (ie; building culture) than talent, effort etc. Believe ETN and Princely when they told you - they were not having talent maximized. I’m all for building rapport and making good humans out of young people but this is EXACTLY what got Auburn coach Harsin fired. The fans were sick of it. Sick of hearing “building chemistry” and going 6-6. So they fired him. And they took all sorts of crap nationally for being “those fans”… and they sold their soul to the debbil for Freeze but guarantee they’ll be winning 10 a year soon. gimme freeze, urban…. Gimme Heupel, Spurrier. gimme the coach that is aggressive, schemes up scores, goes for the throat. Gimme Kirby’s pregame speeches. I’m over the button down, slow drawl, blue collar, attention to detail crap. Nape COULD get out of his own way and let Calloway draw up plays in the dirt and let DJ rip… simplify and spread the field and give him options… play your best players … But he won’t. He will NOT deter from the process- the process being one written in 2008 not today
