Taking thoughts as to whether Joe or Kamala pardon Hunter. He is facing up to 17 years and a fine of between $500,000 and $1,000,000 for the tax evasion charges he pled guilty to yesterday: UPDATE: Hunter Biden Officially Pleads Guilty to Tax Evasion Charges (townhall.com) BREAKING: Hunter Biden Pleads Guilty in LA, Faces Up to 17 Years in Prison Hunter is still awaiting his sentencing from his gun charges trial in New York. I think Hunter will not spend much if any time in jail and that Joe will pardon his son which he has stated he will not do because he doesn't trust Kamala to do it. There is no chance Joe will leave his presidency with Hunter not pardoned unless he dies in office and can't do it. Place your thoughts.......... Hunter Biden has officially pled guilty to all charges, skipping a damaging trial that could have aired all the dirty details related to the Biden family's dealings, per RedState, who has a reporter in the courtroom. Hunter had earlier in the day attempted to resolve the case with an Alford plea, but changed course Thursday afternoon. "I want to make something crystal clear: the United States oppose an Alford plea," prosecutor Leo Wise said, telling the court that the plea is "not in the public interest" and an "injustice" itself. "Hunter Biden is not innocent. Hunter Biden is guilty. He is not permitted to plead guilty on special terms," Wise added.
He should be treated and sentenced like any other person convicted of the same crimes. I don't support Joe giving him a pardon but I agree with you that I think he likely will.
Yes, of course, the President will pardon Hunter Biden. That is why he is trying to plead guilty under these special circumstances where he does not actually admit guilt. He and his attorneys have full understanding that a pardon is coming, and it's in the President's and Vice President's political interest that there is not a trial.
Hunter Biden has actually been treated worse than most other persons similarly situated. In a majority of cases a taxpayer who pays all of his back taxes plus interest and penalties as did Hunter Biden usually isn't prosecuted. Same for the misrepresentation on the federal firearms form. Lying on the form is very seldom prosecuted as a standalone crime. Hunter disposed of the gun in a question in around a week, it was never used in the commission of a crime and he didn't have a history of crimes involving violence.
He admitted guilt on all charges. You have an excellent point about avoiding a trial. I would be embarrassing to Hunter in the grimy details, but it could be damaging to others too. No trial = no details = pardon by Joe later.
Kind of. This would be an Alford plea, which essentially says, "Okay, I'm innocent, but I know the deck is stacked against me in terms of evidence, so I'll plead guilty to avoid a trial without admitting to any wrongdoing." That's why the prosecutors are objecting and not just taking the win. They want him to allocute if he is going to plead guilty.
This is a perfect example of the US two-tiered justice system. People actually believe democrats should be treated differently than republicans. I'm amazed these charges were ever brought except Hunter was so stupid to be bragging about all of his wrongdoings on the internet.
Wasn't Hunter Biden's plea an Alford Plea? He acknowledges the prosecution has enough evidence to convict him, but he still claims he's innocent of the charges. Of course .... this is what we've come to expect from the cretins comprising the Biden clan.
It has been decided as of yesterday afternoon. Hunter Biden pled guilty to all charges. It was not an Alford pleading which was rejected by the prosecutor.
No. From the Red States link above: UPDATED 1:05 PM PDT: Hunter Biden pled guilty in a Los Angeles courtroom Thursday afternoon to all of the charges brought against him in a federal indictment related to failure to pay income taxes and tax evasion from 2016 to 2019. In accepting the plea, U.S. District Court Judge Mark Scarsi told Biden that he faces a maximum punishment of 17 years in prison and a fine of between $500,000 and $1 million. (Scarsi initially said 15 years but later corrected himself.)
I get it but he still broke the law so I don't have a ton of sympathy - especially for someone who is a public figure and should be extra careful about inviting the potential for this exact scenario. Same reason I don't feel any sympathy for Trump in his NY trial. If you have a target on your back, don't go around handing out ammo.
Agreed.. there is about a 0% chance he is not pardoned. There is zero risk exposure to the POTUS at this juncture pardoning his son, so he'd be a fool not to and frankly.. I'd question his fatherdom if he didn't.
So is this an example of a weaponized justice system? Or because you support it, is that not the case?
Entered thread to see hypocrites accuse Biden of doing something he hasn't done.......but that their rapey convicted felon criminal hero has done. (pardon undeserving close associates or family) Every post in this thread should also include the line "also, you're a hypocrite, OP." Because Trump pardoned : Flynn, Stone, Manafort, Bannon, Jared Kushner's criminal father........and on and on and on. Trump has pardoned criminals who are : family, traitors, grifters, foreign agents, tax evaders........and on and on and on. So we'll see if Joe Biden abuses the power of the pardon as much as your criminal did, OP. Although we can be almost certain it won't be on the same scale. And we can be definitely certain that, unless and until it actually happens, you are being egregiously hypocritical.
I mean I gotta be honest… if I were a 100 year old president barely clinging to life and I was basically forced out by my party I would give everyone the middle finger on my way out the door while I pardoned my son.
tldr version of my quoted post; Nice try, OP. You don't get to hypocritically accuse others of transgressions which didn't happen, but which your hero criminal actually did commit.
You are relentless with the garbage you include with your posts. Are these the same "dirty" "dealings" Gym Jordan and Comer Pyle have spent millions of taxpayer money fruitlessly searching for?
