I guess that's the strategy now. While it remains to be seen how well Kamala can do in the debate against Trump, she is leaving herself little room for error, isn't she? One softball interview and a debate, eh? If she isn't seen as the clear winner of the debate, she's done, right? The tepid response to her interview seems to have caused her numbers to slide a bit. A so-so debate performance isn't going to carry her through until November. I don't think Trump will spend a lot of time on it, but the lack of accessibility to voters and the press it will be brought up. I think Trump will win the debate and her numbers will crater to equal Biden's post-debate numbers. It's put up or shut up time for her. If she doesn't put up, people will turn her off very quickly.
Vice President Harris has a day job, in addition to running for election. Since you aren't remotely willing to change your vote, why do you care how many interviews she does? Your candidate has demonstrated time and again that he doesn't like anyone other than himself. Get real.
I’m neither Republican or Democrat. Looking at it objectively she could just be using a defensive strategy. She had climbed the polls, for whatever those are worth, without doing interviews. Meanwhile Trump seems to be doing more interviews and has been offering his opponent fodder and talking points to attack. If I were her supporter I’d be okay with her not doing interviews because it seems to be working. If I were against her I’d want her to do interviews so my side could attack any flubs or contradictions.
I don't think there's ever been a POTUS elected who purposely avoided interviews. They did attempt to conceal Biden, but we all knew why. Kamala doesn't have that excuse. So the only other explanation is incompetence and fear. And then there's the part where her polling bounce has clearly faded. I don't think it seems to be working:
100%, but people are already seeing through it. Frankly, it's very bizarre. First the coronation, giving her the nomination without a primary and then she runs from the press. She's spineless. People are seeing through that.
Can someone please pull up ok’s thread complaining when the Trump White House went over 300 days without a press briefing?? Trump White House goes 300+ days without a press briefing – why that’s unprecedented
The extra bright white flag of defeat. When they go "but Trump" on a totally different subject matter.
Hates her and hates the MSM. But for some reason desperately wants them to talk to each other for his pleasure
Okee: She ain't incompetent, and she ain't afraid of you. You don't like her. You've told us, ad nauseum. And Okee, just for a fun exercise, please name three American elected women politicians you either have or would consider voting for. We're waiting ...
No interviews plus she is still trying to weasel out of the ABC debate. She passed on a Fox debate for tonight so if you want to watch the next president in a Townhall in the Hannity time slot tune in and watch. She also has not said that she will participate in a debate on NBC. Trump agreed to do all three. Harris sure has lots she is trying to hide.
Setting all bias aside, her campaign strategy is quite bizarre: 1. strenuously avoids interviews after being anointed as queen of the Democratic party (big news, no?) 2. snubs Netayahu's speech to Congress 3. picks Tim Walz as VP when Josh Shapiro was sitting right there 4. avoids more interviews after naming her VP (more big news and no interview?) 5. proposes food price controls ala Soviet Union and Cuba when food inflation is finally at near zero 6. no press conferences 7. she'll do an interview when she's ready, her campaign announces 8. she is now for fracking 9. and oh yeah, the wall too (WTF?) 10. finally consents to one interview, but has Walz sitting next to her for it and is looking down a lot at?? 11. I'm only going to do one debate Gotta say..... I don't think it's gonna work, fellas.
Ask yourself why on Earth you would ask such a question, then try real hard to give yourself an honest answer. This post will be rated optimistic for a reason.
