(pro-tip: deploy CC for best effect!) They might need to check on the health of the score boards after this Week 1 of SEC games. SEC teams showed up and showed out as they found the end zone early and often. To celebrate such high scoring first weekend, the conference decided it would be nice to throw a pizza party for the teams...at least the ones that deserve it. Vandy getting some respect!
“It’s okay, y’all used to not be able to pronounce Tua’s name either, but y’all got real good at that.” The Shorts crew finally skewered Florida good, and it was very fitting.
Old Dominion Colorado st. Alabama A&M Chattanooga Furman Eastern kentucky Western Kentucky Southern miss Temple Murray state Arkansas Pine-Bluff (High school team?) These are the opening opponents of 11 SEC teams that did the majority of the scoring. Only 5 teams played decent/ legit P4 teams, 4 of the 5 opponents were ranked top 25. UGA showed out vs. Clemson. (Ranked opp.) Vandy won vs VT (unknown how good VT is) Each scored 34 pts 3 other teams that played ranked p4 teams didn't score over 20 pts LSU vs USCw. UF vs Miami T. A&M vs ND. So because more than 2/3's of our conference played HS teams we really don't know how good they really are. I don't hate the cupcake games but I dont like when they're used as a presumed indication for how they'll perform just for the media to write about. I mean literally who the hell is Arkansas Pine-Bluff ? With that said, this video made me laugh. Go Vandy!! Lol.
They act real tough before the games, but don't do much during the games. Their only real chance of winning is if the other team gets scared and forfeits. They use a woodsy-scented air-freshener cologne to disorient their opponents.
That was very funny! Also liked the surprise Vandy entrance to the party. Good start for 2024 SEC Shorts!
And a funny one at that, but let's not act like talking heads across the cfb world won't gas these teams up when they go over half a hundred against a team like Pine-Bluff. (That sounds like an HS team in the Simpsons, "The Duff Pine-Bluffs" lol) And tbh, as I stand here right now I sorta miss the cupcake opening day game
I would like something in between Samford and a ranked Miami. How about a visit from Texas Tech for example.
What kind of talk is that? Look, why did those Gators fall flat on their backs the moment we got to the home opener?
I actually have liked the big games week one. It's an exciting build up and game usually. But at times it does seem like not every team in on the same level playing ground and a loss 1st game can hinder any momentum a team has coming out of training camp. Somehow we also managed to get each ranked teams (or at least the big games) right after they have a bye week like I wonder what the percentage of that happening actually is. Crazy! But it is what it is. I'm here for it.
