I agree. Let's find the magic coaching tree and pick a surefire future HoF'er who understands the Portal and NIL. We are staring at our fourth consecutive losing season. Many seem to persist in believing Florida is a top tier job people would die for to have. We ain't Da Mighty Gators anymore. We're nothing more than a middle of the pack P4 team. We need to face facts and get back to consistent winning teams before we start thinking of being among the elite. Crawl, walk, run. We're barely crawling right now...
I'm not an executive recruiting consultant nor do I know what job other people want, so no. But I'm sure urban Meyer isn't coming.

Probably most coaches if they were offered enough money and given the ability to run the program the way they see fit. I don't think it would be hard for UF to hire a known quantity, but for some reason for 3 of our last 4 hires the administration honed in on coaches with zero record of success at any level remotely close to UF, almost seemed to think they're just so much smarter than every other athletic director in FBS. Apparently they're not.
I feel like it doesn't matter what level you're successful. If you synergize your buzzwords you shouldn't even be considered. That's who we have been hiring for at least the last three coaches. Corporate stooges.
Maybe not all (Mick and Keith are probably doing alright, Springsteen has money but also major expenses.) But otherwise yeah, the reason you are seeing so many bands back out on the road is because touring is the only way you make money these days in the music industry. The people that never stopped touring are probably doing what they like. I think Bob Weir fears dying not on the road. But the rest of them? Well, you dont take a decade plus off and then come back out because you missed life on the road.
You guys are kidding yourselves with the Meyer talk. We are not going to attract a good, proven coach under the current NIL/transfer rules. We just can't, or don't want to compete monetarily. I personally, am good with that. When college football finally crashes and burns, I can say that my team was not part of the dirty dozen who caused it.

Sooner people realize how insignificant they are, the better off they’ll be. I don’t need to provide you with any specific list of reasons why UF shouldn’t hire Kerwin. I can, with almost absolute certainty, tell you it’s not going to happen though.
