Crazier things have happened and that sounds much better than watching a slo-mo trainwreck for the next couple months .
Excellent. ...and fwiw, I was one of the idiots who blindly thought BN was going to turn things around this year. Went to the Gator Gathering, heard him talk about conditioning, the experience, the in helmet radio communication.... I honestly bought in, and just dismissed the last 2 years as learning curve/ getting his footing. What I saw Saturday, was a @#$%&n toddler...still trying to get his footing, drunkenly stumbling in no particular direction. Except he ain't no toddler.
Certainly the coaching search starts when BN departs. And the search might end up including the interim HC, depending on his and the team's performance. Not a fan of Kiffin but I get your point. GT certainly has not been considered an elite power football program for some time and their coaching search would differ from that of most SEC schools. Brent Key just might change that to some degree. And unfortunately, UF itself is and has been trending downward on the power football program rankings so there's that. Hiring coaches is a crap shoot. Fire BN, hire an interim coach and let him audition for the job while the initial exploratory search begins. I would bet that the football we watch on Saturdays will be more entertaining than the product we're seeing now. But there is absolutely no way an entire off season and preseason summer workouts should have resulted in such a dismal and pathetic showing as we saw Saturday. Fire BN now.
There’s a price pay it and get off tge pot. First class organizations make first class hires. They don’t bargain shop. 6-7 mil a year is bargain shopping. We will pay 10 mil plus to bring in a top guy or we can shop at the flea market. Georgia techs coach ? Cheaper than a top guy but still interesting.
Callaway was communicating from his headset, and I read that Napier's mic was flipped up (didn't notice that myself). Also did we ever throw a slant the entire game until that series? I hope a reporter straight-up asks him at the next presser.
Nobody mentioned Deion yet (that I've seen)? im not endorsing him necessarily - but, the buzz and the excitement and the recruiting would be huge for UF. I've heard he is not anti-Gator despite his fsu ties, and would love 'sticking-it' to the noles if he could. is he from the state of Florida? seems like he should at least be in the conversation. I would certainly prefer Kiff over Deion, but it seems Deion would love to get out of Colorado and would be a much more likely and real possibility IF we wanted him..
Most thought 6 games and maybe 8. I think we are also realistic and realize Vegas odds aren’t comprised by dummies. Hearing Billy sucks every five minutes really isn’t necessary. We all watch the games and know a good train wreck when we see it. It’s just better to have a posit outlook as no one wants to listen to incessant whining. Yep he sucks, move on.
Well Napier might not be going anywhere, but the recruits we have lined up for 2025 will be. Especially if we continue to look at pathetic as we did yesterday.
He’s gone. No doubt about it. Read the writing on the wall. He has no support left anywhere. It’s just money now. Figuring out where the debit lands but it’s landing.
Urbs must want it. Why else make that statement and tweet it? Also note: Saban's gone. ...and just like with Zook, he sees us with a loaded locker room (latent talent anyway) filled with talent (especially with Lagway), led by an incompetent coach with shit for discipline. A perfect set up. Again. I'm down.
