Being real bad might actually be more attractive for a good, experienced head coach. Kiffin wins wherever he goes. For the right price, he may see bigger upside at UF.

Miss State. That’s all I got. But we could possibly head into the UGA game 1-6.

Somebody that knows this better than me. How many 4 and 5 stars do we have on our OLand DL? Saban and now Kirby both know you build from the inside out. S and C coach can do only so much with 2 and 3 stars.

If Napier is let go, Stricklin must also go. I do not trust him to find the next coach

2 years of this BS...we keep trying to pound the square peg in a round hole and it is getting more obvious to everyone but the guy pounding the nail. Honestly I think his bull headedness is worse than Muschamp, Mac and Mullen at this point. You're getting your ass lit up repeatedly and think the only answer is to try and execute harder. Cave man football.

I have been off billy since the FSU game the first year. The guy clearly doesn't have what it takes.

Basically...SS is all in on Napier because he won't get to hire another coach, also UF has no permanent president right now so don't expect any pressure on SS or Napier.

One thing that can help us in the future, this season, is to move the QB out to one side or the other on pass plays... It works, and we've done it before when our O-line was a liability. I forgot when we did it. Forgot if it was Tebow on pass plays... or ... he might have just done that on his own. But it worked.

We might need to move Mertz out of the pocket and shield one side or the other and let him Sprint to the right or to the left on pass plays. He cannot be left at the mercy of this awful O-line the rest of this year.

I feel like I'm in a death spiral, falling backwards, flailing aimlessly into a dark void, tumbling, waiting to hit something, anything, but I just keep falling...

And on that uplifting and joyous note. I'm heading out for some Italian to drown my sorrows in large quantities of meat sauce, bread and pasta. Hopefully, I won't get whacked. If I do, don't forget the cannolis under the table.

The pain will eventually pass, like a large peach pit.

    What can we do?

If we are 1-6 heading into Jacksonville, Napier and Stricklin will both be fired.

In fact if we don’t win the next 4 I expect a move to be made before season’s end.

    fwiw:

“Florida's football program is in a dangerous, dangerous place, for reasons you might not expect on the surface.”

“This loss to Miami will put Florida way behind the 8-ball in a crucial Year 3 for Billy Napier. Because no matter what anyone in the administration tells you, you should be fired with three straight losing seasons at UF. And it's now a huge uphill climb in 2024 to avoid that.”

“But here's the scarier reality: All the motivation from the key decision-makers is to keep Billy Napier. Why? Self-preservation.”

“All of these reasons are why you've seen such posturing on turning down the heat on Billy Napier heading into the season. Tough schedule, takes time to build, etc. Some validity to that, but mostly it's laying groundwork for keeping Billy even with a bad year.”

“But the overall backdrop is pretty bleak, beyond just the on-field results this year. You've got an admin actively trying to lower the program's standard. That shouldn't happen at a place like Florida. Period. The whole thing is so very frustrating.”
