It was telling when Coach Process “doing it the right way” did absolutely nothing when #1 had the original late hit on 3rd down to extend the drive and cost 4 points. Left him in the game, which lead to #12 come up with an even later hit.

    zero accountability and repercussions.

Hiring BN was borderline shocking to me from the start. The guy had absolutely nothing on his resume that warranted a job here. At least the last 3 guys knew the standard here and at least had high points. Now we can’t get to .500 and I’m honestly not sure if BN thinks that’s a problem.

That was obscene, inexcusable to get curb stomped at home, in the once vaunted Swamp, by not so super Mario!!!

6 straight losses now. 3-11 in last 14 power conference games. Oof! Cue the meme of the HBC doing that.

I have watched and mostly kept my mouth shut for 2+ years. No mas! This game has been circled for 3yrs, it was a must win/can’t lose game for Billy…..and you absolutely can’t get blown out!! Mario was hired during the same cycle as Billy and at worst UF & Miami were about even. I contend UF still had a better roster than Miami. Now, in the 3rd season the 2 teams aren’t even close. Again, Miami just destroyed Florida, at home. Let that fester a bit.

Enough of the, but Billy is a nice guy nonsense, it’s virtually the only thing people say when describing his attributes. He’s so over his head a Florida, it’s not even debatable anymore. His recruiting has been at a mid-Florida level, post the rankings. His staff management is a joke. His offense is still pedestrian, at best, no one has ever been afraid of it. He’s still ridiculously trying to prove Dabo wrong, by continuing the charade of being the offensive play caller. The kicker is he’s actually proving him right. Don’t forget, Billy was never more than a position coach at Alabama. I guess Nick was wrong too hey.. All he had to do was go out and hire one of the best OC’s in the business, but no, that’s not how he rolls. He had to go out and hire a sitter for his green DC hire the previous year. Over $2mil invested between them. That amount could like pouch one of the best DC’s in the country. Then there’s no ST coach and no QB coach. Don’t get me started about the failed 2 OL coach experiment, ie debacle. I extensively chronicled the history with Billy & Rob Sale, his best Bud. Sale should’ve never been hired here and much less been given a salary of $1mil per, more than double what he had been paid at any other stop. Then, after 2 failed years as the OC/OL, Billy was ridiculously allowed to give him another 2yr contract extension at $1mil per. The good ole buddy system. smh!

The biggest problem/obstacle now is Scott gave him an obscene 7yr/$51mil contract. He got bent over the couch by Jimmy Sexton. Billy was on making $1mil per at ULL. South Carolina tried really hard to hire him the previous year, but balked when Sexton tried to extort a similar contract from them. They told both to go take a hike. Unfortunately, for UF, Scott only had one name on his list and gave them what ever they wanted. Now it’ll cost $25mil to run him off. UF will rue the day they hired both of these guys. Florida has had such a bad hiring run.

Scott Stricklin should be fired immediately, imho.
Billy Napier should be fired immediately, imho.

    fwiw:
Note to Mrs Napier, avoid shopping at Publix, until further notice.
Billy has gained some weight since last season. Grinding will do that.

Just to be clear…blown at at home, in a bitter rivalry game, in front of the whole country….there’s nothing to justify a longer leash at this point

First of all, I hope Mertz is not seriously hurt. It looks like a head injury though. I’m sort of hoping we can start DJ next week and see how he does. But with our offensive line and I am afraid might get hurt.

Shane Matthews said Miami lined up wrong on that play. Anyone would’ve scored. So, only one TD on a Miami mistake.

At least we still have the longest streak without being shut out. But there are 11 games left in the season. Napier still has time to get rid of that streak.

Piling one bad hire upon another is nothing new for this administration. And TBH, another such failure could be the final nail for years to come. There's no candy coating this, the outlook is bleak, and Billy seems to have no answers. I just hope they can finally get one right before I shuffle off this mortal coil.

What surprised me was how many open receivers Mertz missed in this game, and that's when he had time to get the ball to them. But the O-line was the worst.. he was under fire the whole game, it seemed like.

Not going to win many games when the linemen on both sides of the ball can't do the job. We will get boat raced much of the year. Again, next week may be the only time we are favored, that's the sky falling.

I was also very pleased to see D.J.Lagway's lightning quick release. He reminded me of Rex Grossman's superfast release...
