Boarshead going forward will be about the safest deli meat you can buy. Good news for those of us who love it... and aren't dead.
That bridge that just collapsed and was rebuilt, you best believe its the safest bridge in town now! Yes, it was rebuilt by the same people following the same regulations, but what are the odds! Surely the incentives of not having egg on your face will outweigh the powerful economic ones which caused them to take shortcuts on safety the first time.
this cause and effect is obvious. Boars Head sold rotten food and many customers couldn’t tell the difference and it killed/ hospitalized many. But what about regulation rollbacks and the impacts aren’t obvious. e.g. in our financial systems, healthcare, construction, etc. Areas more complex and it’s not as apparent how “regulations” save us and our financials. Don’t blindly nod when someone claims they’ll cut regulations.
The FDA is now contracting work to the states to "save" money. It still could have worked if the GOP Governor wasn't incompetent and instead of his anti-woke crusade that failed miserably was, instead, ensuring the state was running effectively then people would be alive today.
I'm not surprised. To them money is more important than life. There would be no regulations if they had their way
The kicker is that this is a "premium" product with a higher price point than other similar products. What's the point of food inspectors finding violations if this still happens? Insects, mold and puddles of blood found at Boar's Head plant linked to listeria outbreak, records show
I don’t know how long this scheme has been in place but the FDA, like OSHA, utilizes state agencies to conduct inspections and enforce federal and state laws.
Believe me if there were any legit claim that this was caused by Trump or any Republicans the MSM would be pointing the finger by now. But you guys keep on speculating.
3.5 years and the current Admin didn’t fix it. Guess they didn’t think there was a problem, similar to the tariffs Biden never lifted.
