He was loaded. I didn't see him expose himself as rumored. But he was wild on stage and the crowd was absolutely bats***. He did, in fact jump into the crowd. I was a kid and we left then as it was pandemonium. Outrageous night for a high school senior
Crazy for sure! I liked the Doors but Morrison was so self-destructive; it is no surprise he died while young. Still, it’s hard to believe how good they were at their young ages, like many bands from the 60’s and 70’s.
"Cuban" food. Jai alai. Joe's. The Miami Pop Festivals of the late 1960s. I first got into football watching George Mira in the Orange Bowl, some good times there. But I saw the light a half century ago -- and am all-Gator since 1975.
My first job out of UF was in Miami and met my wife there. Pro Sports, great restaurants, great fishing and beaches, beautiful women, Gators beat Okla to win a NC there,
I saw The Doors at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo homecoming in 67-68 (roommate’s sister was a student there). No, I’m not from Florida.
Where? Honest question. Just yesterday my wife was asking where she could find good Cuban food in the area. I've lived in the Tampa area for 6 years and have yet to find Cuban food comparable to Miami. Seafood, steakhouses, franchises, sure but Cuban not so much. Edit: on second thought Columbia in Ybor is very good ($$), tho it's offshoots downtown and Sarasota that w've been too are mediocre.
I did - she was a lot of fun, while it lasted. Me and 2 buddies spent the night at her place the night before taking a flight to Puerto Rico for a surf trip. This was in '73. She drove us to the airport and picked us up when we got back a week later. I had another girlfriend later on in Ft Myers who had 2 horses...Neb and Lovey. I did get to ride them with her and it was very cool. I love horses!
Nah I got it. I'm a lucky guy........have some great memories - good times - no make that GREAT times!!!
