Something from Cigar City Brewing would have at least been regional and actually craft.

meh, Cigar City sold out and is produced by Monster Energy. Not even sure I’d consider them craft anymore. Don’t think they even brew in Tampa, it’s just a taproom/restaurant. Monster fired their head brewer that started the brewery with the Redners and all the brew staff a few months back. They should have just signed up all the local breweries. Shock Top is laughable as craft.

That explains why Jai Alai seems to be in every shelf here where I live in NC. You prompted me to research and its even brewed in NC after the recent move. I've been buying it BECAUSE it had the same roots I do.

    Bummer

A lot of the minor brews used to be brewed in what was known as a contract brewery. There used to be (maybe still is) a big one in Auburndale. My guess is that is what is happening to a lot of formerly craft beers that have been purchased by companies that aren't a brewery first company like A-B or Miller. Unfortunately, that usually spells a continual degradation in the quality of the beer.

I guess I can’t draw that line. I drank a sixer last night. I guess their beer puts ours to shame.

Did the press release say anywhere that Shock Top would be sold inside the stadium? They talk all around the “game experience” and “releasing a special batch before home opener” and “tailgating” but I don’t read anywhere that says it will be sold at the game.

They have a few other beers I like, so there is that. OTOH I can't stand Shock Top.
