How critical is the Miami game?

For me, I’d go after Kiffen, he has had enough years behind him and has shown amazing consistency at a school not really known for great football. But I’m hoping for a winning season this year so that we don’t have to be looking for someone else.

Id agree in the past but conferences don't really mean anything at the moment and rivalries are really just played when convenient for the most part.

It's about social medias 15 seconds of fame, a big budget for salaries for players and that's about it. Kentucky isn't competing with uf for either.

Little ETN’s pass blocking ability will approve simply because he has arguably the best OL in front of him. Idk how this fanbase latched onto his pass blocking ability so much.

Well, I do know. It’s completely sour grapes. Our OL was god awful and Little ETN went to those leghumping degenerates.

How would you know? We haven't seen enough of Jackson, Daniels and Baugh to get any idea. Baugh looked sensational in the spring game and much harder to get down than Etienne. Also, rb don't live in the open field. They're mostly finding creases to exploit.

A few sides to this imo.

Glass Half Full: We need to start out of the gate strong, surprise some folks, and win an unrealistic amount of games based on Napier finally pulling it together and the team simply exceeding expectations. If you want to approach it that way, and it is probably a healthy mental and emotional way to approach it, then it is important in that way. the springboard to the breakout season.

Glass Half Empty: We have no shot of going anywhere, will probably lose at least half of our games, and the coach is the wrong guy. So the game is important in that way. This is probably a very unhappy way to approach it and seems emotionally self defeating. However, if you truly think Napier will not put it together you may be actually hoping for this just to clear the deck for the next coach. As I said, this seems like a miserable fan experience and probably a pretty unhealthy way to approach the upcoming 12 Saturdays of one's life.

The Buddhist: Everything is impermanent. The water level in the glass is no exception. Focusing on whether it's half full or empty is clinging to a temporary state. Such is football grasshopper. Focusing on the moment... the first time you hear the band while the team bursts onto the field, the roar of the crowd, the celebration of a great play, bbq, beer, and cool autumn days is the real experience. When you shuffle off your mortal coil you will no doubt remember special moments in your final breaths, and it seems doubtful that a specific W/L record for a specific season will be among them. This is probably the best perspctive. Savoring the few hours a year you get with your favorite team, your friends, and your family.

I am no Buddhist. So I hope we beat the sh*t out of the Canes for a lot of reasons. I hate them and their stupid bird thing mascot chief among those reasons.

    Go gators.

Oh I distinctly recall watching it both live and on tv. I'm still saying that in spite of that, he was a dynamic player. The person to whom I responded seems to think he was not a loss.

Critiquing is an art that is never mistaken for broad stroke whining. I sometimes critique... but with a fine brush. The water level in my glass never changes... only my perception does. I like this team and I like our chances to be good.

    Go Gators!

It sounds like the Buddhists have it pretty well figured out — except they can’t drink beer right? So perhaps we need to consider another focus group

Buddhism is a broad brush term with many derivations (like christianity includes both baptists and catholics who view alcohol differently) and some of them do consume alcohol. However, I do think a focus group involving drinking is always a good idea in any situation.
