I think we should have a closed captions thread. I noted the other day that the CNN closed captions referred to Trump as "the foreign president." Today they referred to Kamala as "Comedy Harris." (It must be her laugh.) Whenever there's a good new one I can resurrect this thread.
I thought this was going to be about how some people (me) turn on close captioned as we get older, even though I hear fine.
What's silly on TikTok/YouTube is if you have captions on and then the person ads captions to their vid how those two dont even line up
I can't use closed captions. I've posted before that one of my learning disabilities is that I read at about 1/5 the speed of most people. My brain is too slow processing what it is reading. People talk faster than I can read so closed captions are useless to me.
The CNN closed caption that had me baffled was back when DA Fani Willis and her lover were in the news. It said that they went to a "hate-filled condo." I later found out that it was a Hapeville condo. But the thought of a hate-filled condo can still give me nightmares.
In an interview a while ago, Nancy Pelosi on CNN referred to the "Horrible Care Act." Is anyone familiar with that?
I use it at night because the TV in our LR echos like hell up to our BR. My wife goes to bed well before me and it’s twice as loud up there as down stairs. Keeps the piece intact. (not a spelling error for the grammar cops).
