I remember his greatness when he played for the Gators. One of the best... Where is he now? Doing great things for Gator Nation, I suppose, right?
He has not been inducted into the gator greats nor the florida vs georgia greats. His teammate Fred weary just got in and that was Long over due. We were able to get elijah’s career stats vs georgia 1994: 12 rushes for 53 yards and two touchdowns. 6 catches for 49 yards 102 total yds! 1995: 15 rushes for 143 yards 1 catch for 11 yards. 154 total yds 1996: 10 rushes for 94 yards 1 catch for 24 yards 118 total yds 1997: switched to CB 3 tackles and an interception
Hopefully he'll get his turn soon. Sadly our FL v. Ga Gator greats are dwindling as fast as our once dominant streak against the smelly mutts. The only ones that spring to mind that should be automatic in the last 6 years are the Kyles.
Some might call that giving them Nasty Work haha I remember him and loved his game. I think most gators would agree if they were alive during that 90s run. 95-97 was a deep backfield, Terry Jackson was about as good a number 2/3 you could have behind Fred and Elijah.
He was definitely a Gator Great. Always seemed to fall forward. Splitting time with Fred Taylor and Terry Jackson hurt his stats.
