We need this guy badly... Five-star Lewisville, Texas offensive tackle Michael Fasusi made a surprise trip to Florida over the weekend for the team’s Grill in the ‘Ville event, according to Swamp247, and Hamilton might have the Orange and Blue back in the race. “It was fun being back there man,” Fasusi said to247Sports. “The same people. Seeing Decoster, seeing Sale and saying what’s up. … Getting these relationships. Me, coach Sale, and coach Decoster, we been building a relationship. It’s been getting better ever since.” “They’re (Florida) still going to be up there,” he said. “I’m still going to end up committing of course. I think it’s going to have to come down to the season. We’re going to see what they’re looking like.”Recruiting Summary Florida football recruiting late push for 5-star OT Micahel Fasusi The only ranking service that has him as a 4* star recruit. Michael Fasusi - Lewisville - Offensive Tackle
Seen too many of these late pushes get a lot of smoke only to have nothing come of it over the years. Tim Smith, Donnel Harris, Harold Perkins, Jeremiah Smith, Seaton, etc Expect the worst and be pleasantly surprised if it happens.
There’s an amount that’ll do it. We haven’t bought a top 0T yet. Hopefully we are in the market. Straight freeagency right out of highschool, no draft. What a system. I wonder why no other sport on the planet uses this model.
It is probably no coincidence that a few days after Joe Hamilton comes back on staff, a highly rated TX OT who was in contact with him throughout being at UF and aTm shows up at the Grille. Whether we show progress on the field to satisfy him and whether we have enough NIL once we have 105 mouths to feed is TBD.
If we don’t have the cash some other teams have, I’d rather spend top heavy and not worry about 105 guys.
You may be underestimating just how delicate the team chemistry factor might be. Coach clearly is building a team with a priority on individual character. Might opening up the bank vault for one player upset the balance in the locker room that he’s working so hard to maintain? If so, I don’t think any one player is worth that
Lagway and Mc Lagway and McRae busted the bank last year. I will guarantee you. All sports teams have Max salary players and minimum salary players. They better get used to it.
Sometimes these things happen... We even had Harold Perkins' mom on our side, and he still signed with LSU. Cash money in a bag is far more enticing than a number on a piece of paper... like a promissory note.
Don’t see a commit when he announces in August. Maybe if we have a winning season and have a great NIL game will change his mind in December?
