I could be wrong, but I'd be willing to bet that the Obama and Bush administrations kept records of who the separated children belonged to. Separation is not the issue. The issue is turning innocent children into orphans. And I'll ask again, "What kind of asshole would do that?" Oh, and who is it you refer to as "your boy"? I assume you're referring to a black man who used to be president.
Ya know, when YOU repeat the lies of a lying Trump official, it doesn't suddenly make any of it true. Note from your quoted article that there was no Obama policy of intentionally separating children. the Trump administration has argued that the Obama and Bush administrations did this too. That’s misleading. Experts say there were some separations under previous administrations, but no blanket policy to prosecute parents and, therefore, separate them from their children.
No blanket policy. And the separation only took place when there were questions the child and adults were not related, and the adult may be trafficking the child. If it were proven not the case, the child was always returned to the parent. 100%. In contrast, how many hundreds of children did Trump orphan because there was an official separation policy? Way too many. And if you want the facts about Mark Kelly and the $15 million, try here first.
False equivalency. Trump has a lifetime of sexual predation, unfaithfulness to his wives, lying to everyone about everything, etc. Plus, he was found guilty of sexual assault by a jury of his peers. Plus we all heard him brag about serial sexual assault on tape.
" . . . . Trump PROVED he could run this country." Trump proved he could ruin this country. He did everything he could to divide us. In the first 2 years of his Presidency, Trump controlled both the House and Senate. Despite this, he got no significant legislation passed, except for huge tax cuts for himself and his super-rich cronies. No health care bill. No infrastructure bill. No immigration bill. Trump spent 4 years talking about infrastructure, but got NOTHING done. Biden got a bipartisan infrastructure bill passed in Year 1. Hundreds of road and bridge projects to repair aging infrastructure are now underway thanks to Biden. Trump blew a lot of hot air about the border being his top priority. But, he never got a much needed immigration bill passed. WHY NOT??? Everyone agrees the current laws need to be fixed. To top it off, Trump killed the bipartisan immigration bill earlier this year for one reason only . . . . So he could continue to blow hot air about the border.
On why he shit the bed with respect to healthcare: “I have to tell you, it’s an unbelievably complex subject, nobody knew that health care could be so complicated.” D. Trump
Being born here is a privilege, is it not? Isn’t that the conservative mantra? My point was that we should be careful about judging others when we can’t really understand their situation.
Well, there’s a significant difference between someone who can’t have a child and someone who won’t (can but chooses not to) have a child. Conveniently for those who won’t….. to avoid questions regarding their choice to not have a child, they can always feign “fertility challenges” or other biological problems to cover their choice not to have a child.
Personally, I do not see the importance of that distinction IF the purported concern is about candidates needing the life experience of personally raising kids and/or about candidates having a sufficient stake in future generations. Both of those concerns would apply to anyone without kids regardless of whether they wanted kids or not. Creating an exception for those who might have wanted kids but did not have kids seems to undermine the above arguments and suggest that it's more about demeaning folks who don't want kids and is really less about job qualifications.
Why does this reek of Pub white guys making decisions as to what women choose to do with their bodies?
I just want to add that Jennifer Anniston wins this one with me every time… I can’t imagine a scenario where she loses.
Vance's comment was beyond stupid, this thread is merely dumb by virtue of the fact it was designed to defend/support Vance's statement. You can't defend the indefensible.
Put that on the list of things that are absolutely none of your business, none whatsoever. What is it about you righties that you can't keep your noses out of women's private areas?
I’m not explaining Vance’s comments but expressing an opinion that there is a substantial difference between a person who wants to have a child but can't for medical reasons .... and a person who is perfectly healthy, capable of having a child .... but chooses not to have a child. Those are two very different types of people. And with regard to the latter ..... the one who is capable of having a child and chooses not too (inconvenient perhaps) .... they can avoid admitting they made that choice by claiming they are medically unable to have a child. I suspect many who choose not to have a child ..... feign a medical inability. I wonder which Kam Harris is? I don’t really care re Jen Anniston.
Obama didn't have a policy to intentionally separate children from their parents as a form of immigration deterrence, as Trump did. Do you just not know anything about this?
