Who would a soccer mom trust more? A man convicted of rape or a stepmom?

They were 1.) in college and 2.) in high school when she met them. They were pretty much raised before she even met them

Regardless, I said it wouldnt really matter.

    THIS is the key point.

If the pubs aere running a Pence type family man, they could play this warm and fuzzy family card and it might hold water.

Rolling Trump out crushes any credibility to this debate.

I think being a parent is an important attribute for a role like POTUS. It gives you a grasp of what most Americans feel every day

Trump has no such grasp though and kills any strategy that may be employed here.

They met in 2013. His daughter was 13 or 14 at the time...you think a 13 or 14 year old is "pretty much raised?"

Have to disagree. All of Trump's children are very close to him, aside from Tiffany. But she was there with him at the convention. He's obviously close to Barron. I think his children being such thorough advocates for him speaks volumes about him as a father. If Ivanka and Tiffany can get over it, why can't we?

I believe she was 15 when they married. He stepson was 20...and she was rarely home due to her job ...and they have a biological mom.

I'm sorry but she didn't really help raise them in a parental way. One was already an adult in his 2nd year of college, one was old enough to drive a car.

Again. I think the debate is not a big deal, but it Isn't misogyny to discuss it.

Resumes matter. Would you trust a childless doctor, head of Pefiatrics at a major children's hospital less because he/she has no children? Would you listen to a a Mom pediatrician, 1st year after earning her degree over her boss?

Parents may have empathy with other parents, when it comes to raising kids. But we're not electing a babysitter. We're electing a President. And having no biological children shouldn't matter.

Wow, in any other context, I strongly suspect that you would find your own comments gross. But you are digging in on stepparents of teenagers not raising their kids because they already have a biological mother and a father (well, you will probably disagree and just claim that you are only constraining it to this instance).

Perhaps you should listen to their biological mother:

Now please feel free to tell us how you know better than her how Kamala wasn't really a parent to her kids.

My aunt doesnt have any children of her own and got two teenage kids from her husband when she married. She basically raised a few of her step daughter's kids because she's a trainwreck and cant take care of them. Lots of people are in complicated situations and to minimize it to "you didnt have kids of your own" really trivializes people's contributions in so many ways. I would imagine many people have relatives in similar situations or blended families, and I cant see this attack being all that effective the way people live now.

I was 12/14 when I gained respective step-parents. I can assure you I put them both through The Process.

They both still come to my aid today, although these days it’s things like my stepdad (never graduated HS, retired coal miner) giving me some genius way to fix the heat pump or troubleshooting some vehicle issue.

I consider them both to be barely different than my bios. In fact, my dad and I aren’t very close at all anymore. He has lost his shit and can’t be tolerated longer than, say, country music. And that’s not just my take.

Not disagreeing with you on this particular count, but wrt OP--it's a loser argument.

    Kacala has a thousand vulnerabilities.

Attacking her bc she's childless, by calling all women who are childless as "childless cat women", is a big fat turd of a platform.

Chalk that one up as a colossal @#$@#$ up by JD Vance; don't hitch your horse to that down bound wagon. It's a @#$@#$ loser.

    JD Vance is not a pro kicker talking at a small Catholic College graduation--and that guy caught all kinds of flack for his speech (I had no problem with his speech, but he's a NFL player/kicker, and he was addressing a small audience);

JD Vance is the Vice President nominee for the GOP; his statement was far more offensive and divisive and alienating, than what that kicker actually said.

JDV didn't do Trump or the GOP any favor with that idiocy, and you're not doing the GOP any favors by trying to defend it.

This is one that's better buried (or at least reeled back), than perpetuated.

Why dignify it at all Tilly? My wife's stepmom married her dad at 15 and they seem pretty close when my wife wipes her backside on the regular after she goes to the bathroom due to dementia. But maybe its different than a real family.

Lol. You are really twisting my words. Raising a 15 and 20 year old is not the same as raising them their whole life. It isnt even close to the same thing.

I keep saying its a non issue though, so what is the problem?

LMFAO! No... that case was a civil court case about defamation of character. That's all it was.

Closeness isnt the same as raising them though.

We can agree that becoming a step mom to 20 and 15 year old kids doesnt really garner credit for raising those two kids, right?

Guiding them? Loving them? Becoming close? Of course. But one is raised already and the other is close.

My guess is your wife's mom wasnt gone all the time due to a high ranking government position.
That certainly kept her away for most of the short time their daughter was finishing her teens?

    Do you disagree?

A case decided based on the fact that they found truth in her claim that he sexually abused her.
