I am more compelled by the idea of hormone test and all athletes need to be within a band / range to compete. A two year waiting period post transition period may negate some immediate advantages.

I also think girls shouldn’t be allowed to play boys contact sports — parents should he held criminally responsible for the damage inflicted on their daughters, but transgender boys may be ok if their hormones are within the accepted range.

This is really simple. I asked you want you think should done and you didn't have an answer.
My answer is simple: Leave it up to the organizers. This seemed to be a race for and by adults. If someone doesn't like the rules, they don't have to enter. The people who did enter apparently had no problem with the rules.
The last thing we need is the government coming in and telling the organizers how to run their race.

 

Yeah, somehow I don't think it's that simple. Do you really think all of the females involved with this race were cool with 3 transgenders taking the top 3 spots in the race? They probably had no idea the transgenders were even competing. Love how you make all of these assumptions without using basic human logic. If you think women will continue signing up for the races that men transition into and take all of the medals, you have brain worms.

 

Its a relay team dude, presumably the other women on their teams were ok with it, I dont think that's an assumption. Why are you assuming their contribution was decisive in the race? Isnt that an assumption?

I'm assuming the race was denoted as females only, not co-ed. Meaning the women who signed up for the race thought they would be racing against other women. The way the laws are written now, it's unlikely the organization can put in print "female gender assigned at birth only" on their flyers. At the very least, that's a lawsuit waiting to happen, even though it shouldn't need to be said. In either case, most likely the women who signed up for this felt duped afterwards as they thought they were racing against other women. None of them are happy that 3 men won the race. Sad that it has come to this and then you have Mr. Party Over Country in this thread doing everything he can to paint a different picture.

 

I had a coworker who was obsessed with transgender athletes and how one was going to steal her daughter's scholarship to run cross country. Her daughter was a nice girl, but she was the second best runner in a 1A school in north Georgia (MGT country). If the girl ran at our local HS, she would have been about the 10th fastest female.
I presume to know why she was fixated on a transgender athlete stealing her daughter's spot (idiot choice of news sources....) but needless to say her daughter was never offered a scholarship and the mom still blames some fictional transgender athlete.

The at issue race was a 2-member team relay. Each of the top three teams included a man. So, at least three women knew men were competing in the event as those men were their teammates.

I suspect more teams knew of the male participants but decided to compete even with the inherent disadvantage. Given the location of the race, I suspect many competitors would not make an issue over the male competitors, not wanting to appear to be lacking in wokeness and inclusiveness.

This is what conservatives have to say to themselves because they believe despite evidence to the contrary that everyone secretly agrees with their bigotry and cultural obsessions. If its not a problem for them, why do you need to make it your problem? Dont you have enough in your life?
