If we were even considering paying Rashada 3 million a year, what do you think DJ is getting? Something similar I would guess.

 

If it's accurate, about $1M per year according to this site.

DJ turned down a lot more than what UF offered due to his relationship with Napier and a couple of other UF support staff. Most other kids would have taken the money and not honored their commitment. We are fortunate he and his family are honorable people.

 

I like him but I’m sure we gave him a check in the ballpark. Probably much more than many think.

I never saw anything on the actual size of the $ bags being offered, but I did find the following using co-pilot: DJ Lagway, a highly sought-after five-star quarterback, made a visit to Texas A&M just before National Signing Day. The Aggies made a strong push to flip his commitment from Florida, where he had been committed for a long time. Despite the efforts from Texas A&M and other schools like USC, Lagway remained committed to the Gators. Again, I don't have any idea what was offered, but fortunately it wasn't enough. Co-pilot listed multiple sources, so there's no controversy about TAM making a serious push to land him.

 

Oh I have no doubt there were other offers, I just question the source of the information that he was offered "a lot more" by other institutions. Considering we don't even know what UF's NIL offered him to sign, its hard to come to a conclusion whether that is a reasonable statement.

 

Probably more like an opinion. Some site or other is saying DJ got a Mil per year but that's probably guesswork too.

 

Lagway said so himself in interviews after ESD.

Got it from the people involved. Start with Gary Condron if you know him or know anyone else that does. Without Gary we wouldn’t have near the players we have.
