I was talking to my auto mechanic a couple weeks ago. He said he doesn’t like either political party, but under Trump he had money in the bank, his retirement was growing, and felt positive about the future. He felt that if Trump had just kept his mouth shut, he would’ve been seen as a good president.

    do you honestly believe this?
    why?
how is he fighting for the USA by taking nuclear secrets to MarLago and refusing to give them up
    by filing fraudulent tax records
by inciting a riot to prevent the peaceful transition of power
by profiting from foreign gubmnts during and after potus
by using fundraising to pay his legal bills and fines for rape

which of these did he do for the USA?

I dont know anything about his retirement plan, but the only big dip I've had in 8 years was during COVID when Trump was president

With that level of vitriole I’m not sure how you have constructive discourse.

With social media it also makes it harder. It is a lot harder to say and feel that way to real people in the flesh vs strangers on the internet.

Sure because Trump will not play the game and is a outsider. I don't think any of them care about the copun try or the citizens they are all in it for the money.

I dont know how people can say that now, he's been president and his loyalists control one of the major political parties and much of the government. He's now an insider! He's succeeded in becoming the establishment.

To start - find things on which we agree.

wow. so the multiple senior military commanders who spent generations serving the country in the military don't care about the country and are in it for the money. that is your justification for ignoring their warnings?

how does one communicate with that sort of willful disconnect?

my point was liberals forgiving of Bill Clinton’s misdeeds is used as an excuse to ignore Donald Trump’s arguably more frequent and serious misdeeds. That was even used against Hillary as she supposedly “enabled” Bill’s behavior.

The fact is we would all be horrified if our children exhibited Trumps behaviors, but as President it’s Ok, because Libz R hypocrites.

RINO is a compliment. It means I still like what Republican used to stand for.

    1. You think some genius dem social engineering is more responsible for immigrants voting dem than the fact that Trump & maga vilify & scapegoat them? ok.
    2. Trump sure seems masterful at social engineering. Take you for example. Would you have ever dreamed that you'd vote for a candidate that passes leftist econ policies?
Would you have ever dreamed that you'd vote for a pro choice candidate?
    3. (Making this separate b/c I do not know where you stand) Trump sure seems masterful at social engineering. He's convinced millions of people that the election was stolen. He's got millions of people labelling others RINOs simply b/c they dare not be sheep.

And then do what? I think if you get general enough people widely agree on many things already, so I dont think you have to work too hard on this one. But I dont really see that as an end in of itself.

So what's the solution? How do encourage people to widen their perspectives to see what they charge of others is frequently only a projection of their own attitudes or concerns?

I'm not sure there is a solution to other people's hypocrisy. Everyone is able to reconcile their own, hypocrisy is mainly about what you cant reconcile in other people when it comes to what you think, so its always more about the accuser than the accused. My advice would be to stop using hypocrisy as a political attack, because its not very effective. Its an easy charge to level, because you can always find it, because like I said, its more about the accuser than the accused. There's very little evidence that calling people hypocritical has persuaded anyone other than themselves.

Do you really believe Trump is in politics for himself? Who's net worth went up while in the White House? Joe's not Trumps but you guys and the media are going to throw around the lies that he is in it for his personal gains. Damn near everything you listed above are done by other Presidents, many to a greater extent but they don't have the deep state digging into everything they do.
