I think with Alijah Martin and Aberdeen and now Urban we are in good shape at PG.

For the first time in a while, I'm more excited about Basketball than Football.

so now that the roster is all but complete (except maybe adding a wing if the Lithuanian doesn't return) I must say we're as deep and experienced at every position as we've seen in a while, except maybe at the aforementioned long wing position (no one between 6'5 - 6'9). I think we know what we're going to get from our backcourt - lots of offensive production - so if we can get some staunch defense and rebounding from our bigs and some improved offense from Condon and Haugh- we have the chance to be really good. Now if we can just keep our man in front of us and not get beat on dribble drives like we did last year, we will have all the pieces we need to be a top 15-20 team.

Very intriguing roster. I think Haugh could be a star, and that his 3-point shot is going to start dropping soon.

I have a lot of confidence in Haugh, but he needs to show up better in his shooting right out of the gate this season. He was 25% from 3, 46% from the charity stripe. Not good. But CTG says he's a better shooter than what he showed.

Where do you think he'll get most of his minutes?

Good question. Based on nothing but his freshman performance, I'll say 80% of his minutes are at the 4, 20% at the 3.
I'd like to see his game improve to the point he gets 50% at 4, 50% at the 3 this season. But in today's game, it doesn't mean as much labeling a position. A center and a power forward used to mean the big guys close to the hoop. Now they can be anywhere if they can shoot.

Haugh has a lot of potential. He definitely needs to be a better shooter this year. He did almost everything right except be a knockdown shooter... and that has to change. A shooter always gets playing time, even if they can't do anything else well. The converse is not always true.

apparently he hits them in practice, just needs more in-game reps and to stay mechanically sound. If he hits a few in OOC games to start the season he might gain confidence and get into a nice rhythm by SEC play

Plus, he can order the wine at a fine French restaurant, and say, "Mercy boo coo, garcon!"

Yeah, I hope he fires away in the early going to see a few shots go through the net. I think he rushed his shots a bit this past season.

Can you say Colin Castleton? I never understood why his 3's did not fall. I thought he had teriffic form for a big man, and every time he released it I thought it would pop the net, they just never seemed to fall.

True, but good thing for him they were falling more frequently during summer league. Hopefully that translates to the regular season if he gets more PT

Holding steady at 21 with about 3 months to go before tipoff.

    21. Florida Gators
    Previous ranking: 21

Dec. 17 vs. North Carolina in Charlotte: Taking place at the Spectrum Center in the Jumpman Invitational, this game should feature one of the best scoring guard matchups in the sport in Walter Clayton Jr. vs. RJ Davis: the latter is a preseason Wooden Award favorite, and the former scored 33 against Colorado in the NCAA tournament.

    Projected starting lineup

    Walter Clayton Jr. (17.6 PPG)
Alijah Martin (13.1 PPG at Florida Atlantic)
    Will Richard (11.4 PPG)
    Alex Condon (7.7 PPG)
Rueben Chinyelu (4.7 PPG at Washington State)

UT men's basketball has yet to even get to a single Final Four. They have a long way to go to pass us historically in hoops.

Currently they are ahead of us in the 3 majors. No debate here . We have to get better
