I'd argue that it's unprecedented for a convicted rapist to run for reelection as well and have the party of family and morals back that rapist
Conservatives complained Biden was unfit, which after the debate most of us agreed, then he steps down and which seems like the right thing to do and now they are freaking out looking for false equivalencies to feel better about their own moral bankruptcy as trump supporters. It’s getting pretty sad for them actually. I mean sometimes they post stuff worth arguing about and I know some of you can’t resist but this is just legitimately pathetic.
maybe you’re projecting. Don’t feel an ounce of sadness right now. Work, family and fitness are all fantastic.
I think you are being too dismissive of non-Republican viewpoints. Sure, the right has been attacking Biden’s mental state for a long time, but the right also spent a lot of time convincing us that Hilary wouldn’t live to the 2016 inauguration. The Democrats’ job is make Biden look good, and the Republicans’ job is to make him look bad. I personally decided long ago decided not to vote for Biden, but I was still surprised by his debate performance. Maybe this makes me look stupid to you, but I can promise it’s not a lie. And if I -a non-Biden voter- was surprised, I can imagine many others were too. This is supported by your second claim that Democrats only dropped him because he now couldn’t win. If everyone already thought Biden was so mentally unfit, why would the debate change anyone’s mind?
They were lying to you too. In fact, you have more a right to be upset than I do about that situation. But it wasn’t just the “right’s view” of Biden. You see him wandering off aimlessly in France for the D-day thing. You can’t tell me there weren’t a lot of independents watching that thinking WTF. And the people closest to him were the ones lying through their teeth, because they encounter him daily.
Oh certainly the Biden camp was lying, but I expect nothing less, as that is their job. Certainly, the Trump camp isn’t advertising any of his flaws either. Parties are like lawyers, not scientists, so it is up to us to be skeptical of all their claims. And I consider myself an independent, but I wasn’t sure Biden was so bad. Of course there were bad clips, but everyone has bad moments, especially with little context. Just like with a football highlight video, selective editing could easily make either candidate look good or bad. I’m just glad the two camps agreed on the debate, or we would have never known. Hopefully, us voters don’t allow candidates to avoid them going forward.
