I sent in a donation and was happy to do it. Hopefully I become Secretary of something.

I never have quite understood who gives the big $. I get the super big donors like musk or soros. Musk is hoping for favorable exec orders to help Tesla. And even small time donors who want to help and be part of the team. But who would give $100k? Not like you can be a BullGator and get a better parking spot. Who would sit down and just write a check to Harris or trump for $75k vs giving to your local foodbank or for a new roof for your church?

I assume it's big local players that may need to call in a favor at some point and want to point to it. Like, Harris isn't gonna answer their call, but they can probably curry favor with some Dem working at the EPA, or some local Dem or something to get in someones ear.

Reported to be thousands of grassroots small dollar donors. Do the math: if 3 million people donate $50 each ...

One thing is definitely true regardless of your feelings for Harris… there were very very few dems or moderates interested in seeing a fumbling old man bungle his way through this election. There are a few I know that feel sad for Joe, but the only reason people still supported him at all is they felt no one else could beat trump. That’s the sunk cost fallacy and I totally understand. Maybe Harris botches this, who can say, but I can confirm that a new, young candidate is an energizing force after rooting for the crypt keeper for 5 years.

I’m thinking it was held money in limbo till Joe left.

Be careful using the words “hot” and “secretary” in the same sentence or we’ll attract unwanted politicians to this thread.

Knowing some of those folks, they're people who are either wealthy and want the clout or favor one party over the other for financial reasons. For example, think of the attorneys making millions off personal injury case. Do you think they're going to throw some money around to help politicians who oppose "tort reform" win?
That's why he won the presidency twice. Man is relatable. Who doesn't enjoy a hot secretary?

As someone who works for the federal govt, alot of them are either lawyers or govt contractors and their shareholders.

Very good opening speech too. She is going to lean into the comparison of prosecutor v. criminal. Seems smart.

Trumped-up charges are criminal... Ironic. But we all know those phony convictions will be overturned by a real (non-kangaroo court) judge in a real courtroom.
