My understanding is since Biden already has more than the number of delegates needed to secure the nomination, he would have to voluntarily step aside. I don't think they can push aside otherwise. Makes one wonder how many " come to Jesus" convos will be had with him regarding that.

I see no heir apparent who can galvanize the deplorables like he can. And after 4 more years of his trolling shit and supreme court rulings taking us further back in time I'm sure the vast majority of the country will be ready for a change in direction. Or I hope so anyway.

Well, he'll wander off now and then. But Jill or someone will grab him by the arm and bring him back.

Yes he has to voluntarily step aside but I think he's being told what to do (which sadly for the country I believe is for him to stay in the race despite his disastrous performance).

This. And Trump will personally have picked 1/3 to appx 1/2 of the (fake) Supreme Court, and who knows how many federal judges. Whose sole "qualification" for office will be their allegiance to MAGA. And a victory for Trump will embolden right-leaning pols to run as MAGA as possible for who knows how long.

To say nothing about the reality that it's (past) time to consider climate change a serious threat, not that opposite.

We will certainly see large amounts of resistance. And the continued fraying of federalism, as states and politicians stake out their ideological ground. All of which will make "healing the divisions" much more of a pipe dream than it is even now.

The time to stop the Trumpy criminality and evil was now. Good game, America.

Who finance pros say should replace Biden if the president steps aside

They range from the obvious — Vice President Kamala Harris — to less-obvious but more business-friendly choices such as Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo.

California Governor Gavin Newsom is clearly in contention, but observers note he is currently facing a contentious budget debate in California that could hamper his chances.

Two other battleground state governors, Michigan's Whitmer as well as Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania, are also often mentioned. As is Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker and others.

Shapiro or Newsome. I’d personally prefer Whitmer but this is a shit hole country and I think a female is at a significant disadvantage.

Andy Beshear would be another possible choice.

Harris is more despised than Biden. She’d be fine for hardcore Dems, I suppose, but she has virtually mo shot of carrying the vote for the moderates in the States that matter most.

None of which makes her the right person, just the most convenient and politically correct one.

His family and his posse are enjoying the ride. They selfishly convinced him to run again.

Vance is next in line and may be worse because he isn't incompetent.

I think that lets Joe Biden off the hook. Jill, if that is who you mean, bares zero responsibility for anything. She is not elected or employed. So cliche to blame the manipulating evil woman behind the man.

CityGator, I’m by no means a Trump fan but I will never vote for a Democrat ever again. My parents and grandparents were all Democrats while I was growing up as a kid. Now the party has been taken over by the far left and the old Democratic Party is long gone. If you like the direction the far left is taking this country then good for you. It wouldn’t do us any good to discuss further.

Although it's only one poll she actually doesn't poll any worse than Biden. This poll was taken last Friday. I would concede that she did poll worse than Joe Biden in polls taken months ago.

Confederate flag wavers will never vote for a democrat again.

Also, the democrats are the party of racism and slavery.

    Or somethin’
