The Democratic Party didn't nominate him for President three times. Stop treating Republicans like they're toddlers who lack agency.

Of course it would be because the alternative is worse in their mind, but treating the Democratic Party as the sole cause of that fact takes that preference as a given rather than a choice. It would be like blaming Publix for the actions of shoplifter, because their prices were so high that the alternative of paying was worse in the mind of the shoplifter. As lawyer noted, the Trump voters must be afforded some level of agency.

As if this plane parking situation wasn't gross enough, there was a Saudi plane right there with them both the whole time.

Yep, that " look what you made me do" line of reasoning is bullshit. Didn't make you do anything. You are responsible for your words, behavior, and choices.

This is what i’ve been saying.
Blame the MaGA for Trump 2.0, but blame the Dems for no other choice.

The blaming of retail theft on the stores for that reason is done already, by the far left.

And blame fake conservative voters who vote for a political party criminal organization that defends and lies for a traitorous criminal.

"I would NEVER vote for Trump! (But I fully intend to vote for the people who protested for him outside his trial, who called J6 criminals 'hostages', and who dismiss his rape and fraud convictions. "

If so, I would not agree them. Sure we should expect statistically lower rates of theft of a commodity when it is priced lower, but I certainly don’t think we should accept the narrative that this mean that theft is the fault of the seller.

    a few thoughts:

    1. I must have missed the 'far left' blaming retail theft on the stores.
    2. Republicans nominating Trump three times and then blaming Democrats is pretty ridiculous.
    3. I haven't seen anything from the mainstream media about the two planes being parked together. So I don't know if it's real or not.

You guys are absolutely right that Republicans are responsible for nominating Trump in all three elections. But these things do not happen in a vacuum. They are often a response to circumstances.

Rather than the analogy of blaming the store for shoplifting, I see it more like the effects of US foreign policy over the years. US support of Bautista contributed to the rise of Castro. US support of the Shah of Iran contributed to the rise of Ayatollah Khomeini. Support of Somoza in Nicaragua led to the rise of the Sandinistas.

I wish the Republicans had nominated someone besides Trump in 2016. But if the Democrats had nominated a decent person instead of anointing Hillary Clinton, I don’t think Trump would’ve won.

    Just stop.

The Republican party has chosen to defend and lie for a criminal, from the impeachment hearings to the court trials to the judicial obscenities of "Judge" Cannon and the USSC.

Republican voters are choosing to vote for a convicted felon who accepted election help from Russia and enacted a criminal conspiracy to overturn an election.

Stop trying to place the blame ANYWHERE else.

Yes. There is a real challenge to making the determination that x caused y, but I can certainly agree that both of these statements can simultaneously be true: “Trump would have lost if Republican voters upheld higher standards” and “Trump would have lost if the democrats had nominated a better candidate.”

The analogies you guys are using involve an illegal action - shoplifting, DV - in which the perpetrator tries to blame someone else for him committing that illegal action.

That is not the case here. Voting for Trump is not illegal. I believe people chose to vote for Trump in the first place in response to circumstances around them. Did you read Hillbilly Elegy?

The Democrats despise the people who vote for Trump. Hillary Clinton called them a “basket of deplorables.” Along comes Trump who gets in the face of those Democrats.

They saw someone standing up for them. Whether Trump truly cares for anybody or not is irrelevant. He at least pays them attention when no one else does.

If the Democrats had run a decent candidate in 2016 who at least listened to these people who feel left out, that candidate would’ve won.
